Description

Tubara is in the Higashiyama in Kyoto. You can go to so many sights (Kiyomizu temple, Kenninji temple, Yasaka shrine, Fushimiinaritaisha, Gion area, Kamo river, downtown..) on foot! Also very convenient for tranceportation. bytaxi from KYoto st. Tsubara was 100y old Machiya, we lovely restored all possible to original style using antique fittings & materials by traditional craftsmanship. We love Tsubara, we hope the guests too! Outdoor bath & Suikinkutsu make amazing time for you. The space Tsubara is 2story traditional wooden house called 'Machiya'. 1st floor - 3rooms(2tatami rooms, 1wooden floor rooms), kitchen(URL HIDDEN)out-door bath, shower room, toilet, wash bowl, garden 2nd floor - 2rooms(tatami rooms as bed rooms), balcony We set up 'Roten-boro' out door bath tub(Shigaraki pottery made). And also made 'Suikinkutsu' in the Tsuboniwa garden(small garden in the Kyoto machiya). Suikinkutsu is a decoration device in a Japanese garden that generates a sound like the Koto~Japanese harp~with dolops of water. There are some Suikinkutsu in temple's garden in Kyoto. you could have relaxedbath time hearing its sound! Guest access Your party can use whole house, and you can feel you live in good old days Kyoto! Other things to note * We ask for ID upon check in. We ask that guests provide a photo of themselves in their profile. *Please be sure to let us know your expected arrival time. *If there are children in your party, please let us know their ages in advance. *The tatami mats in the Japanese-style rooms are made of very delicate materials and are always kept clean. Never roll the wheels of your suitcase on the tatami mats. Also, please wear shoes (or slippers) in the entrance, kitchen, and garden. Please be sure to take off your shoes in other areas. *We have to accept “Kyoto city accommodation tax” by cash when your check in.
