The space Being original 1860s architecture the home is laid out as two buildings with four formal bedrooms in one and rustic exposed stonework in the living and kitchen separated by a Tuscan style breezeway. The main bathroom with clawfoot bath opens onto the breezeway. Camphill has well established gardens with old roses and vines draping the posts on wide sunny verandahs hosting views of the paddocks, the old blacksmiths shed and mountains beyond. Here is a sense of space and time. The property has several acres of "bush" with wallabies, wombats and other marsupials living in harmony with humans. Being stone the house is cool in summer and heated by reverse cycle aircon with wood fire for ambience in winter. The birdlife in the area is certainly a feature with king parrots are regular visitor in evenings. Early risers will be entertained by finches and wrens at the kitchen windows. If you are looking for modern minimalism with shiny surfaces and clean lines devoid of history, then you will probably be disappointed - but if your taste, as is mine for character, texture and history set in a place that breathes with time, then this is it.
