Little Possum Shack ~ waterfront cottage

Little Possum Shack with its waterfront position is an ideal place to escape and experience a bit of shack life in Tasmania. Located on turrakana (the Tasman Peninsula) the property has views across Carnarvon Bay to Point Puer, Isle of the Dead and the Tasman National Park. The space This is a family shack with modern extension providing bright and sunny spaces located on Little Possum Beach. We accommodate a maximum of 6 person, but our place is best suited to a family of four (two adults and two children) or two couples. You can fit up to six people if you are happy to share sleeping spaces. The main bedroom and bunk room open onto a back deck area with BBQ and outdoor seating. Another deck is at the front providing for views across the bay to Point Puer and Tasman National Park beyond. During the summer holidays we spend most of our time here and love sitting outside listening to the birds, watching the sea birds, reading books, playing games and doing puzzles. We also love our regular beach visits and walks along the foreshore. Wintertime can be just as beautiful, and the lounge room is a cosy place to escape and look out over the bay in front of the woodfire. Hopefully, you will be able to relax and enjoy a little break just like we do. Our place is still a work in progress so there are some minor elements of our renovation that are still being completed. The kitchen is however recently upgraded. Facilities include: *Full kitchen with basic provisioning (salt, pepper, spices) and Nespresso machine (BYO pods). *TV, DVD player (BYO hard drive to play shows or movies via TV) *Bath & shower with gas hot water. *Air conditioning (8.5kW) in main Living room which heats the back 2 bedrooms when the doors are left open for heat circulation & electric heating in the front bedroom. *Wood fire (available for use between March and October only). *Nespresso machine (bring your own pods). *Some games, puzzles, books & kids toys. *BBQ (Weber) and outdoor table setting. *Laundry facilities including washing machine and clothes drying horse. *Mobile phone access is limited to Telstra and Optus only (no or little coverage for vodafone). You will need to bring your own: *Food (while there are small IGAs on the peninsula the nearest major supermarket is located at Sorell). *Beach towels. *Cot or highchair (if needed). House rules: *No parties and please be mindful of noise levels between 9pm and 9am. *No outside visitors or overnight guests without prior approval. *Do not engage in illegal activities anywhere on the property. *No pets. *If you break or damage something, please let us know so we can arrange for its replacement or repair. *Please recycle. We have labelled the general and recycling bins at the back of the house. *No smoking including vaping inside the house. *No parking on the concrete driveway which belongs to the next-door property. Guest access Guests access is via a key safe on the wall near back door. The code changes for each guest. After you have made your booking we will contact you and send you a confirmation email with your entry code and other details.
