Description
The cottage is the oldest house in the village, it guarded the entrance to the Abbey of the Benedictines of Etrun. The Abbey was founded in 980 and destroyed during the revolution in 1789. The whole has been listed as a Historic Monument. In 1815 Cardinal De La TOUR d'AUVERGNE decided to build his "Summer Residence" of which the surrounding walls still exist, as well as some period elements. In 1915, General Pétain made it his headquarters and commanded the Battle of Artois from these places. The space The cottage was completely restored in early 2016, it is equipped for 6 people and possibility of two more with an additional €50/pers/stay. It includes an equipped kitchen, a living/dining room, 3 bedrooms, a mezzanine, 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets. Wi-Fi included. A small private garden and a secure outdoor swimming pool. Free private parking. It can accommodate pets upon request with a €20/stay supplement. Guest access The Gîte is located 10 minutes from the city center of ARRAS and 2 km from the ARRAS-LE TOUQUET D939 road. Enter through the large gray gate to the right of the war memorial in the center of the village. You've arrived! (Free private parking.) Other things to note There are 3 bedrooms: One bedroom with 1 bed of 160 cm. Another with 1 bed of 140 cm. and another with 1 bed of 180 cm or 2 single beds. A games room that can be converted into a bedroom with 2 beds of 90 cm with an extra charge of €50/bed installed. Tell me as soon as you book the composition of the group to stay organized.
