Cottage in Ellsworth

Located on 9 acres of wooded land this all-season home is the perfect retreat where serenity, scenery, and adventure are right out the door. At the “quintessentially Maine” rocky waterfront you will enjoy sitting on the lakeside deck, jumping off the dock, floating on the swim raft, and exploring with the kayaks. The silky clear water is like none other; just a few minutes on this lake will revitalize even the most exhausted soul. The space The first floor includes a great room with cathedral ceilings, a cozy living room, dining for up to 10 people, and a modern kitchen with all the necessary accouterments. Just off the great room is a lovely screened porch with additional living/dining space. A deck spans the entire length of the house. Listen to the loons, or enjoy your morning coffee while gazing down to the shoreline. Also on the first floor is the primary bedroom with a king-size SleepNumber bed and french doors to the lakeside deck. The private bath attached to this room has a large custom shower. The upstairs loft features a guest bedroom with a queen bed overlooking the lake. A second bedroom - equipped with two sets of bunk beds - is great for the kids. These rooms share a full bathroom with a wonderful view of the woods. Also, on the loft floor is an inviting reading nook for quiet time. The lower floor has another queen bedroom with a beautiful view of the lake and french doors to the patio. In addition, this floor houses an extra-large full bath and a family room with air hockey. You will also find the "game closet" on this floor - puzzles, board games, and more for evenings or rainy days. Lakeside there is a dock (for seasonal use) and a year round deck with two adirondack benches and a fire pit. Also, lakeside are 5 kayaks: three adult, one adult tandem, and one child. Beyond the lake and the indoors, there are 7 acres of woods just across the road. Follow the creek to the top of a super-huge rock for a view of a hidden watershed. Guest access The whole shebang. Other things to note The rental includes two single adult kayaks, one tandem kayak, and one child kayak. All sizes of life jackets are in the house. This house is really great for families, couples, and small groups (4-6 peeps) of friends. Bunk beds are full-size, but really made for kids; thus we reserve the top bunks for children. There is a fee for adults over 8 in number. A smart TV floats around the house. It's not often used, but should you desire to catch a show, it can be placed wherever you like. You'll need to use your own streaming-site log-in credentials. We supply bed linens, bath towels, and beach towels. You'll also find supplies of dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, and body wash upon arrival. Because we like to bring the outdoors in, there are no window treatments - but plenty of privacy is provided by trees. We have to be in the water in order to put the dock in, therefore it goes in when the water temperature becomes bearable in the spring and is taken out as the temperature becomes unbearable in the fall. This varies from year to year. That said the lakeside deck is always available!
