The space The vibe of the house is unique in that it elicits the charm of old east austin without the sterile box like feel of other modern homes that have emerged in the neighborhood. The lighting, both natural and interior, along with the vaulted ceilings, wood floors and walls creates a warm, comfortable atmosphere against the wood details. All the lighting throughout the house is on dimmers allowing you to create just the right experience according to your mood. There is a private deck just outside the back door of the house and a private off street driveway along the side of the house. The bungalow is in the most eclectic and interesting neighborhood in Austin. It’s located less than a mile from the University of Texas and 1 1/2 miles east of downtown Austin. The MLK commuter rail is located one block away and is one stop from downtown, east 6th street, and near all the east austin and downtown nightlife. Houndstooth coffee is 1/2 block from the house. The bungalow is not available for parties or other "events". The owners live next door and are available to answer any questions or help with any issues.
