The space Driftwood Cottage is a detached former Blackhouse built in 1890, recently renovated to a modern standard, providing Self catering for 4 persons in 2 bedrooms. The cottage occupies a stunning hillside location above Staffin Bay with spectacular views across the sea to mainland Scotland. Situated in the crofting village of Staffin just 25 minutes from Portree, Driftwood Cottage makes an ideal base for exploring the Trotternish Peninsula and the whole of Skye. The ‘Stanley Rayburn’ cooker/boiler and large oak dining table, make this a warm and comforting room for socialising. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob/electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer & dishwasher. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine and Milk Frother. Other things to note We are a 3 hour drive from Inverness and Fort William via the Skye road bridge (toll free open all year), 4.5 hours from Perth, 6 hours drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh and 9 hours drive from Manchester. We would recommend anyone driving from London or the south of England do an overnight stop around Carlisle or Stirling. Maximum of 4 people are allowed to use or stay in the cottage and its grounds per rental. No tents, No camper-vans Please note: Electric car charging – Electric Vehicle EV charging is not permitted. This property does not have an EV charging point. Due to insurance exclusions, charging your vehicle using a domestic charger (granny charger) is not permitted.
