The space Welcome to Cotswold Lodge, a stylish, self-contained retreat in the heart of the Cotswolds — perfect for couples or small families. Converted in 2020, this light-filled stone lodge blends modern comfort with rustic charm, just a short walk from the village centre of Painswick and set directly on the Cotswold Way. Inside, enjoy 750 sq ft of beautifully designed space, including a king-size bedroom, a velvet sofa bed (ideal for one young child), and a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area with underfloor heating downstairs. Bi-fold doors open onto your own private west-facing deck — perfect for sunsets, morning coffee, or evening drinks. Top local experiences Step straight onto the Cotswold Way from your doorstep, explore the famous Painswick Rococo Garden, or enjoy village pubs, cafés, and shops just a short walk away. The lodge is also a great base for visiting Stroud and other historic Cotswold towns nearby. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need, including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, and a stocked fridge with organic milk and orange juice. A selection of teas and coffee is provided, along with a welcome basket of fruit, biscuits, and cakes on arrival. Relax in front of the 50-inch Smart TV with Netflix, or connect your own devices using the dedicated broadband and Wi-Fi. The dining table for four can also be used as a workspace if needed. Upstairs, the loft-style king bedroom features oak stairs, a comfortable seating area, storage, and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in power shower and Faith in Nature shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Private parking is included. The lodge is within easy walking distance of village pubs, cafés, and shops, and is ideal for walkers, wedding guests, and weekend escapes. It is suitable for two adults and one or two young children. Please note it is not suitable for four adults, as the en-suite bathroom is accessed via the master bedroom. Whether you’re here to hike, attend a local wedding, visit friends and family, or simply unwind, Cotswold Lodge offers a peaceful and well-located base for your stay. Guest access Guest are free to sit and relax on the private deck during a fine day and talk to our friendly dog, Freddie who is often free ranging. N.b. Booking recommended. * St Michael’s Bistro – A lovely family-run restaurant specialising in home-cooked meals using locally sourced ingredients. * Le Papillon – A charming café-deli offering coffee, lunch and a relaxed evening vibe with wine & cheese nights every Friday. * Juniper – A stylish café and bakery offering fresh pastries, light bites and artisan coffee right in the heart of the village. * Arts Café – A combined craft shop and café serving soups, snacks, cakes and barista coffee in a warm village setting. * Beacon Bar & Kitchen – Located at Painswick Golf Club (a short drive or longer walk), this welcoming spot serves breakfast, light lunches, and Sunday roasts with panoramic views over the 18th hole and surrounding woods. Dogs welcome on the terrace. * WILD The Wick Street Farm Shop & Café – In nearby Stroud, this café-farm-shop offers relaxed coffee, cakes and light meals made with local produce — a great choice for a longer outing.
