Waterfront serenity - Tui (with small kitchen)

Minutes from the city; miles from anywhere! A peaceful waterside retreat & total serenity. You have private access and exclusive use of 2 rooms, bathroom and toilet. The second room is your own lounge and kitchenette. You can use it as an office (it has WiFi, TV & DVD player and a small table) or to sleep a second person on the comfortable fold-out sofa. The house is on the estuary mouth of the Waiuku River. As you can see by some of the photos, the high tide laps at my seawall, just a few steps away from the deck. The only sounds, apart from the occasional plane, are the birds and the boats going out fishing into the Manukau Harbour. Guests never want to leave! Because of my proximity to the airport (about 35 minutes), I often get travellers either arriving off a long-haul who want a couple of days to get over their jet-lag, or people having a quiet relaxing night before heading overseas. (Well, I did before Covid changed our travel habits!) The serenity of the place is perfect for chilling out. The unit is very well-equipped with all conveniences. Basics for a self-catering continental breakfast are provided in your sitting room (which is your second bedroom if you require two beds.) You have a small fridge, kettle, toaster, electric frypan and microwave plus crockery, cutlery and wine glasses, bowls and cooking utensils. A range of teas and both instant and plunger coffee are included. Water is available in the bathroom and laundry. A portable gas BBQ is available for guests in both my apartments to share. It can be used either at the back door if it's windy, or on the beautiful wide deck while watching the tide and the birds. If you're a couple travelling with a baby, let me know. I can provide portable cot, highchair, a potty and beach toys. Guest access You have your own private access at the back of the house, via the immaculate laundry. Both of your rooms open out onto the expansive deck. You have your own section of the deck to use. You will receive instructions for self check-in once booked - a lockbox stores your key. If I'm home I'll introduce myself at some stage, just to make sure you've got everything you need. Other things to note I can speak some French (with help from the dictionary!) The self-contained flat next door has its own private access and is also available to be booked. It has a full kitchen and a much larger lounge, or book both apartments and I can open up the connecting door. (See 'Glorious waterside apartment'.) NOTE: If you've got a little one under 2, please list him/her as above 2 years so you get an accurate pricing. Airbnb doesn't automatically charge for babies and toddlers but I do, given all the resources I provide.
