We hope you feel right at home in our charming 1920s house in Seattle's beloved Ballard neighborhood. Our happy home is nestled on a quiet street just a short walk north of Ballard's many eateries, bars and shops. It is lovingly appointed with original artwork and historical black and white photos of the Northwest. Enjoy picking fresh herbs out of the rain garden, sipping coffee while listening to music or taking a relaxing bath in the soaking tub. The space Our love of travel, art, photography, Seattle history and gardening is at the heart of Ballard Blue Jay's character. We preserved the fun vintage vibe of our house with the purple kitchen and retro 1940's Frigidaire range and metal cabinets, but added modern comforts like the TOTO bidet toilet with a heated seat and dryer. The remodeled bathroom also has a heated floor, and a deep Hydro Systems soaking tub perfect for relaxing in. The sunny living room looks out over the rain garden. An Italian leather sectional sofa faces a 60" LED smart TV that is hooked up to Netflix, Amazon Prime and a Blu-Ray/DVD player. A large library of DVDs and Blu-Rays are available to watch if you're feeling like staying in. The Palm Room is the garden retreat inspired bedroom. It has a plush queen size bed and a vintage style brass bed frame. There is a closet with hangers, and drawers for smaller items or clothing. There are also black-out curtains you can untie if you like the room extra dark or have a little one. The fully stocked purple kitchen also has a sunlit table for 4 perfect for enjoying meals or a cup of coffee at. It's actually a drafting table, so if you feel like sketching feel free to tilt it up and let your creative juices flow. There's some art materials by the table. Amenities such as a microwave, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster, blender, plenty of pots and pans, salt, pepper, olive oil, are also available for you to use and enjoy. A new kitchen sink faucet helps make the task of hand washing dishes a little more fun! A front load high efficiency washer and large capacity dryer are in the laundry room off of the kitchen and are free to use. Guest access The house is yours to enjoy. There won't be anybody else in the house with you, though the door to the upstairs will be be locked. We also welcome our guests to enjoy the front yard with its garden and bistro table. We kindly ask for guests to give us our privacy in the backyard as we live in the backyard cottage and actively use the driveway. The trampoline is also off limits due to liability reasons. Other things to note We live in the backyard cottage and actively use the driveway, so please don't park there. There's lots of free street parking available. COVID-19 UPDATE During these unprecedented times, we as AirBnB hosts are doing everything within our knowledge to make your stay as safe as possible. In addition to our routine cleaning between guests we are also following AirBnB's enhanced cleaning protocol: 1. Prepare: - We are blocking out 1 daybefore and after each guest to safely and thoroughly clean and disinfect our home. So if you'd like to extend your stay and it appears unavailable on the AirBnB calendar, please just message me through AirBnB to request to extend your stay. 2. Clean: (wearing a mask and disposable gloves) - Dust, sweep, vacuum all floors, mop kitchen and bathroom floors. - Wash all dishes, bedding, towels, throw blankets, sofa and bed accent pillow covers in hot water. - Scrub toilet, sinks, fridge and counters. - Empty all garbage cans and line with fresh bags. 3. Sanitize: - Disinfect all “high touch” surfaces such as door knobs, light switches, remote controls, stereo knobs, cabinet pulls, microwave controls, lamp switches, sofa, keys and bidet controls. - Double check utensils and glasses and plates for cleanliness and re-wash anything found not spotless in our dishwasher. 4.
