The Colonial Cottage

You won’t forget your time in this historic and charming place. Surrounded by a peaceful garden with some Harbour Views over the Manukau, the Cottage is conveniently located half way between the City centre and Auckland International Airport. It offers all modern amenities in a unique comfortable and romantic colonial environment minutes walk away from Onehunga village, shopping malls, beaches, parks and transport centres. The space The Cottage located on Harbour View Terrace, is a totally independent and situated at the back of the owner's homestead property with a separate access. It includes: A large LIVING ROOM with double sofa bed, chest, coffee table and flat screen TV. A working desk is also available by previous arrangement for guest staying over 3 nights. A small KITCHENETTTE totally equipped with breakfast bar, fridge, microwave, mini stove, hot plates, toaster, coffee machine and more. A BATHROOM with shower, vanity and washing machine. Some Toiletry are included for your convenience. A VERANDA with outdoor dining table and chairs as well as and swing sofa loved by all our guests. A MEZZANINE BEDROOM accessible by steep staircase with large double bed and bedside tables offering views over the Manukau harbour. A BABY cot can also be provided on demand before arrival. MULTIPLE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT Small on the outside and big on the inside, the spacious open-plan offers ultimate comfort for a couple and is big enough to welcome a family of 4. However, please note that the design does not offer total privacy between sleeping areas. PLEASE NOTE: The base price for double occupancy is for 2 persons or a couple using one double bed only. When two persons wish to use 2 separate beds, an extra linen fee (not included in the room price) applies. Please let us know in advance. Guest access The Cottage is at the rear of the property at the back of the host residence. A SPACIOUS TINY HOME: The Cottage total space represents a generous 56 square metres. Guests can use the entire cottage and its veranda as well as most of the garden area and the front garden where a giant trampoline is located. The guest own secured parking bay is located on the left-hand side of the driveway, just after the gates. SAFETY NOTICE The mezzanine bedroom located on the cottage first floor is accessible by a steep staircase only that may not be suitable for people with disability issues or unsupervised small children. (Note that we do have a sofa bed in the living room) Other things to note TRANSPORT An independent shuttle service is available just 1 minute away across the street. Onehunga Bus terminal and Railway station are less than 10 min walk from the Cottage. HEALTH & SAFETY There is a 7-day Medical Emergency centre (The Doctors) only few minutes away from our location. Please let us know on or before arrival if you are feeling unwell. If you are symptomatic please wear a mask and respect a 1 metre social distancing with hosts. The cottage is equipped with smoke alarm, fire blankets, First Aid kit, fire extinguisher as well as hand sanitiser and masks. Note that there is a steep staircase leading to the mezzanine bedroom. Caution is advised.
