Morrow Manor is a 1920’s, beautifully remodeled home located five minutes from ETSU, the VA, JCMC, and Freedom Hall. This home includes three bedrooms, full bath, living room, dining room, washer/dryer, and fully furnished kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom are cleaned and sanitized between every guest. French doors separate the living room from the dining room with a large table for late night games, study sessions, or family dinners. Morrow Manor began in 1920 as a four room bungalow at the end of a road. A WWII vet and his family moved to Johnson City after the war and added three more rooms and bathrooms. We bought the house in 2005 from the son. Over the winter of 2017-18 we gutted and remodeled almost everything. You can still see the original siding and flooring in the laundry room and the hemlock deck boards on the porch. Morrow Manor is in a safe residential neighborhood with a half acre of woods in back. The road is now a connector link to other parts of town. We have parking for four cars in the sloping driveway, plus two more parking spaces up the lane. Enter the house through the picket fence gate to the front door using your key code provided the morning of your stay. We have a small handcart for groceries and luggage if needed on the porch. The west facing porch is an old fashioned way to enjoy Morrow Manor. We have plush towels and comfortable beds. Lamps and outlets abound throughout the house. The 50” smart TV is screencast friendly. The kitchen is fully supplied including a full size refrigerator waiting for your groceries. We live within walking distance. After 10:00 p.m. we are in bed. AirBnB can usually get through to us if there is a dire emergency that cannot wait until morning. We are in the middle of a residential area on a busy road. The road provides easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and other essentials. The white picket fence and wrap around front porch look into the past when everyone sat on their porches to talk and eat. There are city sounds and a train in the distance, but a nice walk back through the woods will give you quiet isolation. Most guests hang out on the front porch for coffee in the morning or in the cool of the evening (but after 10:00 pm is quiet time for neighborhood peace and respect). We are centrally located which makes getting anywhere in Johnson City a snap. Four cars can fit in the driveway easily with additional space beyond the drainage ditch. Street parking is not allowed. The HVAC unit is new in 2018 and the water heater in 2019. WiFi is 200 MB download and 200 MB upload speeds. We ask that guests avoid blocking the driveway, shared with the neighbors further up the drive.
