Oxford Tiny House (on 10 Acres, Mountain views)

Experience tiny house living! Set on 10 acres at the Canterbury foothills. Meet our very friendly chickens, 3 steers & have a relaxing stay in the country! Oxford's Dark Sky rating (only 6 in NZ) means we have amazing star gazing! No cleaning fee. All the creature comforts you can't live without! There is power, standard size shower & a plumbed toilet - no need to worry about a compost toilet here! Please also see our other listing "Oxford Holiday Cottage" if you need more space /amenities. The space Now with fast WiFi! The kitchen has a sink, gas hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster and utensils. There’s a dining area beside the kitchen and a TV in the lounge. Most guests prefer to sleep in the loft. The lounge (downstairs) has a sofa bed which can be made into a (normal height) double bed if required. There is a ceramic wall heater, fan heaters and a movable fan. In the loft there are x2 single mattresses at one end and a queen mattress at the other. (Please see photos of the steps leading into the loft). We take the time to iron the bedsheets for you. Sink into feather pillows and relax after a local hike. There is a full sized shower with instant hot water, plumbed toilet and vanity. Since April 2024 15% GST is added (but only when you book via these third party sites). In the neighbouring properties there are sheep, goats and even a peacock! Have a stroll in our forest where fantails are likely to greet you. Sorry, no domestic pets are allowed on the property. See our website for more information. Need accommodation for more guests or would prefer a bit more space? Check out the tiny house's big brother "Oxford Holiday Cottage" approx 12 meters away. Our house is approx 40 metres away and you can feel free to pop by if you need any assistance. Oxford village is only a 7 minute drive away where you'll find cafes, a supermarket, gift shops, petrol stations, a pharmacy, bar, tennis courts, summer time pool etc. Waimakariri golf course is only 6 minutes away. Guest access You get the tiny house to yourself. Guests are welcome to walk around our 10 acre section. It is roughly half paddock & half forest. Guests need to be ok with steps. There are outside steps leading into the tiny house. Inside there are steps leading into the loft (see photos to assess suitability). There is a children's play area that children are welcome to use. There is a fort, a swing, slide, tyre swing & a trampoline. Other things to note Toilet paper is fine down the toilet, but no other items can be flushed. Please dispose of any cooled cooking oil/fats and coffee grounds in the food scraps container, not down the sink. This is definitely not a party house. Please do not book our property if that is your intention. Due to previous issues we no longer accept bookings for bridal party groups (brides, bridesmaids, grooms, groomsmen) attending weddings or pre wedding related events.
