The Franco-German tourist route (Grüne Straße - Route Verte) leads through Breisach and connects the regions of the Black Forest, Upper Rhine, Alsace and Vosges. The Black Forest metropolis of Freiburg is 25 kilometers away and is also easily accessible by Breisgau-S-Bahn. Freiburg can be reached in an hour by car or the Höllentalbahn - in the Hochschwarzwald with many well-known places, such as Titisee, Hinterzarten, Feldberg and Schluchsee. Cozy resting places and lots of refreshments are waiting for you. On over 400 km of signposted themed and educational trails, you can explore Kaiserstuhl and Tuniberg on foot. Nine themed axes point the way to emerald lizards, wild orchids, loess alleys, rare bird species and many other natural treasures, some of which are unique in Germany.  The Rhine and some swimming lakes are a great area for all kinds of water sports such as swimming, diving, sailing, fishing and canoeing. Next to it, swimming pools invite you to cool off in the summer months. Other rural recreational opportunities range from Boule to inline skating to horseback riding and tennis. Golf enthusiasts will also get their money's worth.
