Use of washer and dryer is shared with 1 other apartment and owner. We respect your privacy. The first floor apartment is occupied by a member of the owners' family. Because we are close by, we are able to answer questions, make quick repairs, and give directions to many locations in Central New York. We have enjoyed coffee or glass of wine with our guests on the lovely front porch. Nearby bus stops, and free SU shuttle . This is a safe area, and we walk comfortably to many places. Right around the corner on Westcott Street you will find wonderful restaurants and quirky shops. Thornden Park is a lovely, sprawling green space one block away. It has great places to run, read a book, and commune with nature. We especially love the Rose Garden Westcott Street, with shops, restaurants, also has a theater with national music acts and special events. It is easy to walk to most everything you might need. For major grocery shopping, however, you may prefer the huge Price Chopper with a full selection of American and International foods. Price Chopper, and Indian and Asian groceries, are 5 minutes by car or Lyft. If you are a fan of Wegman’s, that is about 10 minutes farther. Excellent bus connections to Syracuse University and downtown Syracuse. There is plenty of street parking. Our guests generally park directly in front of the house. Remember to observe the odd/even parking rules to avoid a ticket. There is a flight of stairs leading up from the street, plus a flight up to your Sunny Second Floor. This apartment might be difficult for some people with disabilities, or anyone who does not like climbing stairs. On the other hand, the view is lovely and relaxing. The apartment is quieter than many other places in the University area, but please remember this is an older home and you will have neighbors above and below.
