La Chouette: 4 bedroom gite in Poitou-Charentes

Gites dans les Champs, a pretty 3 gite complex, offers spacious accommodation. The gites can be rented as a whole, suitable for groups up to 20, or individually. Ideally located for walking, cycling, kayaking and horse riding.  With a fenced swimming pool and sun terrace, set in three acres of private parkland.  A relaxing environment to spend time with family and friends. We are close to main routes for easy access to all local attractions but not far from the N10 for those en-route to Spain. The space We have 3 gites, La Chouette, sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms; L'Hirondelle, sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms; and Le Roitelet, sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. They can be rented as a whole or individually. Each gite has access to a downstairs bedroom and wet room suitable for those with mobility difficulties. The kitchens are fully equipped, the larger gite also has a dishwasher. The gites are all spacious and comfortably furnished. La Chouette: approached via its own wide garden path, this impressive gite is entered through large glazed French doors opening into a magnificent atrium which rises to full height from a patterned tiled floor to magnificent oak roof timbers and a galleried landing. Accommodating 8 people, the spacious open plan living area comprises kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge, with wood-burner. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave and gas cooker. The lounge and dining areas are well furnished with carefully selected local items to give an authentic flavour. In addition to the glazed entrance doors, there are two further French doors leading onto the courtyard. Also on the ground floor is a pretty twin-bedded room and a bathroom of “wet-room” design, comprising shower, washbasin and WC and non-slip floor tiles, heated towel rail and fully tiled walls. Upstairs by way of an attractive hardwood staircase are three further bedrooms with attractive chestnut flooring and a second bathroom. There are two double bedrooms and a twin-bedded room, each furnished in local dark oak furniture, providing ample storage, and with views across fields to the ancient village of Vaussais and its 11th century church. The bathroom comprises a marble-topped vanity basin with lighted mirror, walk-in shower and WC, and heated towel rail. A galleried landing overlooks the atrium and the courtyard garden.  All rooms are fitted with electric heaters, and a cot, high chair and DVD player may be available with this gite.  Outside the garden area has its own barbecue, table and chairs for those al fresco meals, and a patio alongside the courtyard. Guest access Each gite has its own private garden and barbeque, but share access to the fenced pool and 3 acres of private parkland. There is off-road private parking. Other things to note The gites lend themselves well to large groups but can be hired individually. La Chouette has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8. L'Hirondelle has 3 bedrooms, but also has access to a fourth ground floor double bedroom and wet room. Le Roitelet has 2 bedrooms and also has access to a ground floor double bedroom and wet room. All gites are large enough to accommodate travel cots in addition to beds already provided. The pool will be open, subject to weather conditions, June to September.
