The house is full of character with lots of steps and plenty of original features (exposed beams/stone, terracotta tiling) combined with attractive modern furnishings. Fully equipped new kitchen (freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer) with dining area and door to small covered terrace. Lounge (woodburner, Sky tv) with door to front terrace and pool view. Dining room leading to 2nd lounge and a games room (billiards, table football). Open all year for sole use of guests. This exceptional property is in a wonderful location with plenty to see and do nearby. The city of Saumur (around 20 minutes away) has an elegant château overlooking the Loire and is famous for its troglodyte cave dwellings and high quality sparkling wines - it's worth visiting one of the cellars for a guided tour and to taste and buy. The Grand Bleu restaurant in the old quarter of town has a good reputation, specialising in fish & seafood. Doué la Fontaine (10k) is known as the rose city because of its thousands of rose bushes, and there is a popular zoo here too (just opposite is another great place to eat, the gourmet restaurant Auberge Bienvenue).
