Authentic Zeeland dike house (near the beach!)

Huisje Vogelenzang, our cozy historic dike house from 1866 is located in the rural village of Sint-Annaland, on the beautiful island of Tholen. Walking distance to the beach and village. The house has recently (2019) been restored to the requirements of this time, preserving or restoring the unique authentic character as much as possible! Here you will find the cozy living room with original beamed ceiling and paneling! From the living room, the stairs to the lower house are accessible, in the lower house there is the simple but fully equipped kitchen with granite countertop and tile sink, you imagine yourself in grandmother's time! The functional bathroom is located on a mezzanine floor and has a sink, hairdryer, toilet and a nice shower. Upstairs is a spacious landing, with closet space, where you can store the suitcases and bags. There are also various board games and books about the area. The spacious bedroom has a new (2019) double bed with a sturdy cold foam mattress. From the landing/dressing room, the open sleeping loft is accessible. Here you will find a doubter. From the kitchen in the lower house, you have access to the sheltered sunny garden, overlooking the beautiful, still in use Standerdmolen (the oldest in Zeeland!). There is a plum tree in the garden, and also various herbs, which you can pick for your own use! You rent the cottage INCLUDING a made double bed (if you want to use the extra bed, you must book for 3 people, or bring your own bedding!), bath and kitchen linen, basic necessities such as coffee, tea, etc., WiFi, digital TV with on-demand functions, various books and board games. There is also a folder ready with various brochures with tips for fun activities on the island and surroundings. Cottage Vogelenzang is a historic place with various original details of more than 150 years old, which have recently been restored with much love. We ask you to treat these old elements with respect. Guest access The entire cottage and the sunny garden are at your disposal! There is a complete kitchen, bathroom with linen package, hairdryer, toilet, enclosed garden, bedroom with a nicely made double bed, and a cozy living room with a TV with on-demand features. All private! Other things to note Huisje Vogelenzang is a dike house, so walking up stairs is inevitable! The extra bed is not made up unless booked for 3 people. The cottage is located on the outskirts of a cozy and lively village. Sunday rest is important for many people in the village, which means that the shops are closed on Sundays, and outside the summer season not all restaurants are open.
