Historic 1860s Homestead in Brooktondale

We are in the tiny hamlet of Brooktondale, ten minutes southeast of Ithaca and Cornell. The Brookton Market is two blocks away and serves coffee, breakfast and lunch, and a wide selection of draft beers and wine. Brooktondale is nestled around Six Mile Creek, between two State Forests: Shindagin Hollow and Danby. We can see the Milky Way from our backyard. The space One of the oldest homes in the area, our house was built in 1865 but has since been completely remodeled. Our wrap-around mahogany porch is a lovely place to relax, and we recently built a wood fired sauna out back that we are happy to light for you. Guest access We are offering our entire house, which we normally occupy ourselves. We love welcoming people to the area and pointing them in the right direction according to their interests. Wineries, cider houses, bog walks, waterfalls, and tasty restaurants abound. If we are in town, we will be happy to light the sauna for you! Other things to note We have an indoor/outdoor cat who will be on the premises, and has her own door. We also have chickens in a coop and run out back. Guests are not expected to provide care for the animals, and should feel free to interact with or completely ignore them. We also have a beehive which shouldn’t affect you. We spend lots of time outdoors without the bees bothering us in any way.
