We are a 10 minute walk from Mamelles beach, le monument de la Renaissance, and le Phare Mamelles (lighthouse), 3-5 min walk from local restaurants and markets, and 15 minutes from downtown Dakar by taxi. “Room DIOR” Private room w/ king sized bed and private bath. We provide fresh towels, soap and shampoo. - Room NDIAKAR has a double bed, a mosquito net, small dresser, fan, AC table and two chairs, and shares a bathroom. There is a shared living room, shared simple kitchen with a fridge and a gas stove, a mini outdoor seating space, a courtyard / garden, a large rooftop, a large entry way space, and a visitors bathroom. You are welcome to use all of the shared spaces. Cooking basics are included (access to spices, oil, salt/ pepper). A continental breakfast is included in the morning, but you’re welcome to help yourself to tea or coffee at any time of the day (free of charge). This apartment is an independent building with three floors (courtyard on ground floor, house on second, and rooftop) and we are the only ones living in the building. The entrance is pretty private with very little traffic in and out of the building. The place is very secure, with three entrance doors. The apartment is tidy and clean. We have unlimited professional WiFi with a strong signal. Boucar runs fitness classes on our rooftop which you can join for a small fee. Full access to kitchen, gas stove, living room, shared spaces, clotheslines, fans, WiFi. Fitness classes, Mamelles beach 10 min walk away, for anything else just ask! :) You are welcome to join us on some of our daily social activities, or if you would rather do your own thing, that’s fine too! - 10 minute walk from Mamelles beach, and 5-10 minute walk to the monument de la Renaissance - 10 minutes to the base of the mamelles lighthouse phare des mamelles - Farmers market first Saturday of each month - Calm neighborhood but nearby lots of restaurants and markets within 5-10 minutes by foot - 5 minute taxi from almadies where there are tons of bars and clubs and nightlife - 15 minute taxi from down town Dakar - Several restaurants down the street - Senegalese veggie and spice market also down the road - Down the street from the brioche Taxis, clandos (cheaper taxis) 5 minutes from bus stops, walking, etc. We are happy to help arrange transport and explain how the system works here. You are welcome to eat with us, hang out with us, etc. Our house is your house! We also are available to help you with things you may need such as a SIM card, changing money, etc. - We have a water filter, so no need to buy water. - Feel free to eat lunch with us if you’re around. We usually eat local home made dishes around the bowl. If you plan on eating meals with us, we appreciate a contribution for ingredients and a heads up ahead of time so we can plan ahead. - We are happy to arrange transport to and from the airport or to other regions of Senegal (you would have to pay our driver directly) - We can organize grillades for you and your group on our roof or at the beach - grilled fish around a communal bowl. Costs vary. - Cooking classes: Amazing chef Fatou gives cooking classes where you can learn local dishes. It’s a private class where you go to the market together for ingredients, and then come back to the house and cook / learn! Cost is 10,000 cfa plus ingredients. - You can come enjoy tea on rooftop most afternoons - Boucar does fitness classes on our rooftop on Wednesday and Friday evenings for a small discounted fee. - We usually do a concert every month on our rooftop. - WiFi with a stronger signal than most WiFi in Senegal - We can offer takeout / food delivery options (we know all the great restaurants around!)
