Description
A quiet, modern and well designed Cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds for up to 4 people in two twin bedrooms. The cottage is warm and bright and kept to a very high standard. *NEW* We now have 500mb fibre optic broadband dedicated to the Cottage. The space Hyde Mill Cottage sleeps up to four guests and is a beautiful detached holiday cottage located in the heart of the Cotswolds. Sitting down a long drive in glorious, unspoilt countryside beside the River Dikler, this delightful holiday cottage is ideal for a relaxing break or to use as a base from which to explore the Cotswolds and its many attractions. The cottage sits close to the Mill House which is listed in the Domesday Book. It has recently been renovated and decorated to a high standard to offer very comfortable and cosy accommodation with an open-plan sitting room/dining room, a warming log burning fire and a well equipped kitchen area with fitted units. The heating is from river sourced heat pump, the electricity from solar panels, and the pure water from our own well, so it is very environmentally friendly! One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the other has an en-suite shower-room and both rooms have two single beds and plenty of cupboard space. Guests also have trout and coarse fishing available when in season (from April 15th). The cottage is just a step away from the footpaths which pass by the Mill and offers access to some of the most stunning rural walks in the Cotswolds. It is an easy walk to the picturesque villages of Lower Slaughter, The Swells, or Bourton-on-the-Water - all offering places for refreshments. The owners keep Soay sheep in the nearby fields and the cottage benefits from its river setting where kingfishers, dippers and water voles can regularly be seen. Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park and the Cotswold Wildlife Park are both within easy driving distance and great for the kids, as is the Steam Train railway at Toddington which takes you on a 13 mile ride through the Cotswolds. For provisions, there is a Tesco supermarket 2 miles away in Stow-on-the-Wold, along with plenty of independent shops and the area is full of varied and interesting pubs and restaurants. Golf and horse riding are also available locally. The heated outdoor swimming pool and the tennis court are available by arrangement. Kiftsgate Court Gardens, Sudeley Castle, Hidcote Gardens and Daylesford Farm shop are a few of the many places worth exploring within twenty minutes drive. Cheltenham Racecourse is 30 minutes drive and the cottage is ideal for any race goers to stay in peace and quiet after a busy day’s racing. For further sightseeing and shopping, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Bicester Village are within a fifty minute drive and it is also possible to visit the City of Bath for the day. Guest access The Cottage is in the countryside and there are some wonderful walks just outside the front door. Also, you have private access to the river front with Kingfishers flying past (not guaranteed!). Other things to note The river Dikler is 30 meters away from the house. This might be a hazard for very young children although the small garden by the cottage has a picket fence for security.
