This space was created with the intention of gathering conscious like-minded people together to connect with natural surroundings, explore creativity and experience community. The Sound of Silence Airstream @joshuatreeacres is surrounded by Joshua Trees on 5 private acres. Conveniently located 10 minutes from the village, our property is a serene escape into desert life. **Please note that although we have modern amenities, this is more of a high end camping experience than staying in a boutique resort. We strive to make our guests feel as comfortable as possible but also want you to be aware that this is not a hotel. There are no restrooms or running water in the Airstreams and this is a communal property where you will be interacting with other guests. This is all part of the outdoor desert experience and was created with intention as a place to step away from modern life** Inside our 1964 Airstream we have taken the time to restore the most unique features while adding modern comfortable touches including a Casper memory foam mattress. This sleeping space features hand made decor and thrift found treasures- blending what we love from the past with the present. Our communal space- The Clubhouse is where guests gather to cook, eat, get clean and meet other desert wanders. It offers a small kitchen with a fridge/freezer and a stove top. We love cooking in this kitchen and have done our best to provide everything needed to create a beautiful meal. Our coffee corner devices include a Chemex drip coffee maker w/filters, French Press & Moka Pot. During cold winter nights, the Sound of Silence Airstream is heated with a space heater. On warm days/nights, it's equipped with an AC unit. We've consciously chosen to be a television free environment. Please note we have a very weak Wi-Fi signal in our area. We invite you to use this time to disconnect from technology and enjoy the peace and tranquility it can bring. Depending on your provider, cell phone reception should be available. We love the desert but with it can come unpredictable weather, hot sun and desert dwellers. Remember to stay hydrated and take an afternoon siesta. Don't alarmed if you feel the strong wind blowing or hear the coyote's howling, it's all part of the beauty of sleeping in the desert wild. We are thrilled to host you and can't wait to hear about your experience staying in the Sound of Silence Airstream @joshuatreeacres Instagram: @joshuatreeacres Please be aware if you are booking an airstream on our property, the restrooms, kitchens, pool, hot tub, solar shower, outdoor table & clawfoot tubs are all SHARED spaces with up to 8 other guests. We have a sign up board in our outdoor kitchen to reserve these amenities for private use. We have two caretakers that live on the property named Steve & Lizzie. You will see them around tending to the plants, pools & other maintenance. -It's best to stock up on food and drinks in town or wherever you are traveling from. If you do forget anything, there's a cute corner shop called Mesa Market that's a 5 min drive away (Aberdeen/Yucca Mesa). -Check out vernacular art at Noah Purifoy's Outdoor museum a 5 minutes drive away. -Hike locally on the Bartlett mountain trails. You will definitely need a car to get around Joshua Tree. Our property is 1/4 mile off a paved road but is easily driven in a small car (including a Prius) *Bring slip on shoes- all of our dwellings are shoe free zones and you will want something you can easily slip on and off HOT TUB- Please keep the lid closed at all times that the hot tub isn't in use. The locks have broken in the wind so we've been keeping heavy rocks on each corner to keep it closed for now. The wind can pick up quickly and carry the lid away..... -The property is very secluded can get quite dark at night. We advise all guests to bring a flashlight or headlamp to get around comfortably -Most of the lights littered around the property are solar powered and will turn on as soon as it gets dark and burn through the night -Your Airstream has outdoor porch lights that are automatically set to turn on at sun down. If you would like to adjust the settings, follow the cord to the outlet on the airstream and you will see a black dial. You can adjust the settings there. -Bring a sleeping mask unless you like to rise with the sun -Bring a refillable water bottle so you can stay hydrated. Filtered water is available in The Clubhouse **You will most likely be sharing the property with other desert lovers. Please be respectful and keep the communal space clean for everyone to enjoy. We ask that you keep all personal items stored inside of your aitstream and not in the communal areas so that all guests can enjoy the space freely. We do not have daily maid service **
