Utopia River Retreat is a secluded paradise nestled along the Sabinal River in the Texas Hill Country. Our flagship home was originally constructed in the 1860's as a fort with gun-ports as a defense against Indian incursions into the valley. Carefully renovated to maintain its historic integrity, this magnificent home now boasts two-master suites and an upstairs area with 3 semi-private lofts. Large living and dining areas and wrap-around porches make this ideal for larger groups. The space Located an hour and a half west of San Antonio in Utopia, TX. Lose yourself in quiet solitude & tranquility on our 22-acre estate as you relax in one of 9 cozy cabins or the historic home known as the Fortress. Enjoy views and swimming in the Sabinal River, centuries-old cypress & oak trees as well as the native wildlife. You will find enchantment with each visit. Our event spaces have played host to weddings, family reunions and numerous other events. It is perfect for any occasion. As one guest recently put it, this is my idea of the happiest place on earth!
