Our romantic windmill (1874) is just a few miles from Amsterdam in wide green fields and along a meandering river: "Gein". Easy access to the A'dam. by car, train or by bike. You have the entire windmill to yourself. Three floors, 3 bedrooms with double beds: it easily sleeps 6, a kitchen, living, 2 toilets and a bathroom with bath/shower. Bikes available + kayak. Just leave some extra money if you did use them. No need to reserve ahead. Great swimming water and small landing just in front. We live close by, about 2 miles away, ready to help out for all your requests but will not disturb you. If you love green fields, a slow river (sweet water and suitable for swimming!) along the mill, sheep, goats, cows and a great view, this is it. The town of Abcoude is 1 mile down the road with all you need and the city (Amsterdam) at 20 minutes drive. To get around: Best is to rent a car. For groceries in town (1 mile), to check out the area, or to go to Amsterdam: either drive down and park at MUSEUM PARKING (7,50 EUR/hour) or park for free at Abcoude trainstation (1 mile) and take 22 min train ride to Amsterdam Central, leaving every 30 minutes at 20 past and 50 past the hour. Free parking at the mill, room for 4 cars easily. From the AIRPORT SCHPIHOL : TAXI: costs about 65 EUR, takes 20 minutes. Uber runs in this area as wel. Or, take TRAIN to Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena station, change train: take Sprinter direction Utrecht, and get off at stop: ABCOUDE STATION. From there: 10 minute walk from to the mill (follow bike path along traintrack, cross bridge over river, turn left, walk 1 mile thru the fields. No taxi service at Abcoude station, to get an Uber takes about 20 minutes in Abcoude. Alternative: : Take Taxi or Uber from Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena (about 20 EUR) to the windmill.
