The cabin comes stocked with all your boardgame needs from Scattegories and Catan for the adults to Clue and Sorry for the kiddos. Next to the game room is the master bedroom. A king size bed with memory foam mattress, down pillows, down comforter and 100% cotton sheets and duvet, will be the bed you never want to leave. Attached is the master bath with shower so a couple can enjoy all the privacy they need. Central heat will keep you warm up here in the cold, snowy winter months. Downstairs is the main floor, including the living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and the main bath. One bedroom has a queen memory foam mattress with down pillows and down comforter. A salt lamp will lull you to sleep at night. And if you get chilly, grab one of the vintage wool Pendleton blankets, hanging on the ladder. The 2nd bedroom provides a 100% walnut bunkbed, one twin bed and one full bed. It also has an additional twin trundle – all boasting memory foam mattresses and down comforters. The kitchen has everything you need from basics like oven, microwave and dishwasher, to the small details like a Motif pour-over coffee maker for a perfectly brewed cup of coffee every time. The kitchen comes fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. The kitchen opens up to your big community style dining table elegantly lit by a big brass sputnik chandelier. The dining table sits close to the living room, which is centered around the fireplace. An LG smart TV will allow you to access your Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Go and more. So don’t you worry about missing the latest episode of your favorite TV show or the upcoming big game – we’ve got you covered. The common area has double sliding glass which opens up on both sides so the house can become one with all that the outdoors has to offer. The massive 20 ft deck includes a sectional sofa, 2 lounge chairs, 2 midcentury bucket chairs and a wraparound bench so you have plenty of seating for the whole family! A 4 burner gas grill will supply the daytime BBQ fun and a big central firepit will bring the night time warmth under the stars. Take the stairs off the deck down to the backyard to a hammock swing under a canopy of trees, right next to the hot tub. Enjoy a soak after a dip in the lake or a cold snowy day on the slopes. The side of the house has just the right space for a fun round of cornhole! THE DOCK: Part of the magic of Stones Throw Cabin is the fact that a 5ft easement along the side of the house takes you right down to your own private dock in Mallards Bay. Take the stairs off the deck, walk down the driveway and follow the sweet little path straight down to our dock. Follow the signage. This area of the bay has some of the best fishing in town! The lake is teaming with bass, carp and trout… so happy fishing. You might just catch yourself some dinner! Kayaks and paddleboards are available for guest use as well. Just make sure to sign the waiver and put on your lifejacket. If you are one of the lucky guests with a boat, feel free to launch from one of the public launches and then drive back to Mallards Bay and enjoy front row parking at the dock. SOME THINGS TO NOTE: *Stones Throw Cabin is a SHOE FREE ZONE. The cabin has plush carpeting so that everyone can enjoy a cozy warm home… but in order to keep it clean for the allergies and the crawling kiddos, we ask that you leave your shoes at the door. A bench is just outside the door for removing the big boots and dirty hiking gear, and a little bench is inside by the door for you to comfortably put on your shoes. Thanks for helping keep the cabin clean. LEAVE YOUR SHOES & YOUR WORRIES AT THE DOOR. *We want to remind you that this is a cabin in the woods! Therefore, you will see spiders and cobwebs in the cabin. We do our best to clean them with every cleaning, but sometimes they build a new web before we can get to it! Please be understanding that we do our best to clear the webs, but you will prob see 1 or 2 during your stay. *POLLEN ALERT: During the summer months Big Bear gets a lot of pollen. The pines give off a very fine yellow pollen that coats everything! Our deck and patio furniture will be cleaned before every guest, but due to the continual spreading of the pollen it is impossible to get rid of it completely. Please be aware, this is due to the seasonal nature of Big Bear and not due to us not cleaning. *SUMMER ALERT: As stated in the listing, we do not have central air so the cabin gets warm during the summer months. Due to the A-frame shape of the cabin, the hot air rises and the upstairs room can get hot. We have a portable AC unit in there as well as a fan. We run it before guest arrival so that it is cooled down, but be prepared that it can get warm up there. *CENTRAL HEAT: due to the shape of our cabin, and the venting of the heaters, the downstairs bedrooms can get HOT when the heater is on. Closing the floor vents, cracking the window or leaving bedroom door open will help keep the room cooler if wanted. *Since the cabin is sometimes vacant and not fenced in, there are 2 security cameras on site, one in the front exterior and one in the back exterior. There are NO CAMERAS INSIDE THE HOME. We want you to know that we take your privacy very seriously… we do not monitor camera when we know guests are on the premise. The cameras are only monitored when the home is vacant. *please note the $200 cleaning fee - since we want to keep the cabin just as clean for the next guest as we did for you! *Snow removal from the driveway will be arranged before your arrival, but you might have to shovel around your spot if you arrive after the plowing and it has been snowing. We will provide shovels in case of this happening. Look at it this way… it’s not a real mountain experience without a good snow shoveling story! *NOTE: Stones Throw Cabin is a private rental operating as a licensed business in the City of Big Bear Lake. The additional 11% Management Fee is charged to each booking. This fee is remitted the City of Big Bear Lake to the mandatory 8% Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) and 3% Big Bear Lake Tourism Business Improvement District (BBLTBID). These taxes are charged by the city to all vacation rentals in the area. Big Bear License #: BCA-105851 *Follow us on IG and post pictures of your adventures and your memories @stones_throw_cabin Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin, backyard, boat dock and kayak.
