Lake Nojiri Cabin Nature, Hiking & Ski Escape

Our cabin is nestled in dense forest, a 10-minute short walk from Lake Nojiri. It's within a 15-minute drive from 7 of the snowiest resorts in all of Japan, and on a day-trip one can reach an extra 5 resorts. Because of the beautiful powder and heavy snow, a 4x4 car with snow tires is needed in winter. We are LGBTQ+ friendly and respect the diversity of all our guests. Please feel welcome! The space We host a quaint cabin with a newly and beautifully renovated interior nestled in the surrounding forest of Lake Nojiri. It is the perfect location to escape the heat of summer and to explore the region's many ski resorts in winter. The lake and its surrounds have activities all year, but the warmer months are the only time we can recommend staying without a car to get around. In winter, we have have a heater which can be left on all day in "Eco Mode" and keeps the temperature between 18-22 degrees. If you are not used to colder climates, please bring winter-appropriate clothes. Because of the heavy snowfall, boots are needed to get around on even the best maintained of the resort areas. In summer, we rely on fans as the property is shaded most of the day. This cabin is suited perfectly for two couples (4 persons), 2-4 friends, or a single family with up to 2 children. The configuration in the primary room is designed to sleep 2 people on the bed, and the tatami room can sleep 2 on futons. The primary room has 1 double bed. We also have linen and one 1 person could sleep on the couch for those who want 3 separate sleeping areas. It is in a tranquil and private part of the forest and many of the nearby houses will be empty apart from national holidays, as they are rarely used by anyone but their owners who live full-time in other major cities. Although this is considered rural Japan, we still have fast mobile wifi to provide our guests internet access. The cabin has a fridge and a fully functioning kitchen with cutlery for 5 people. There is a washing machine for clothes. We also feature an outdoor deck. The renovation includes new beautiful oak floors, new wallpaper on walls and ceiling, oscillating fans/dehumidifiers (summer), humidifiers (winter) in every room. The closest ski resorts are Myoko Kogen (4 separate resorts), Madarao/Tangram and Kurohime Kogen, Iizuna Kogen, Seki Onsen & Lotte Arai.
