Heart of the Elmwood District! Private Room +Deck

Private bedroom with a roof deck for one person on the second level in our house in one of Berkeley's finest neighborhoods. Perfect for visiting academics, nurses, and those in Berkeley for short term work or study situations. 15 minute walk to UC Berkeley! There is a well-behaved dog (shepherd mix) living in the house. We offer weekly and monthly discounts. The space This is a bedroom in a family house, and I live onsite. There are three guest rooms for Airbnb guests. In addition, occasionally my grown sons visit and stay with me when they are in town. The house was built in 1921 and was remodeled in 2003. We live on a side street with moderate car traffic. The Elmwood district is known for its walkability and small-business shopping district, beautiful old homes, and proximity to both UC and public transit options. Please note: parking is not provided and street parking is limited to 2 hours during business hours M-Sat. The room has everything you need and is comfortably furnished with one full sized bed, arm chair, and desk. The bathroom with shower is next door. There is a mini-fridge for you to keep a few food items. You are welcome to use the living areas and kitchen for light cooking. Enjoy the backyard garden patio on sunny days. Inside, the comfortable living room has a piano and a gas fireplace for chilly evenings. The room has an under-door pad in the closet if you need to block out light or dampen noise from outside the room. Please note this room is listed for one person. The full sized bed can be snug for two people. Please check with me if you are traveling with a partner. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for simple meals, make tea and coffee, and to enjoy the common areas of the house. There is no parking on site. If you have a bicycle, we can store it in the backyard during dry months, or in the garage during rainy weather. This is a very pedestrian friendly neighborhood. Essentials such as groceries, drug stores, restaurants, and public transit are all within a short walk from the house. During your stay I have met so many great people through Airbnb, and I always enjoy meeting new people! I have lived in Berkeley for many years, and love sharing ideas about things to do in the bay area. Other things to note Since this is our home, occasionally we will have visiting family or other guests. Our Airbnb visitors are welcome to join our gatherings. We invite you to stay in our home!
