Moulin de Record - Group Gite for 8 people, fishing & nature

The gîte is composed of 2 identical parts and can accommodate up to 8 people. Are you ready for a journey through time? You will stay in a gîte by the water, in a green and wild valley at an altitude of 470 m at the Moulin de Record, which is more than 6 centuries old... This true secret garden, surrounded by nature, peaceful and preserved, is ideal for relaxing to the rhythm of the murmur of the river. Family & friendly welcome. Ideal for trout & crayfish fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rest. The space At Moulin de Record, this cottage awaits you for a quiet stay in the heart of nature, to the rhythm of birdsong and the murmur of the river, in a relaxing setting where time seems to have stopped. The neighbors are called fox, doe, deer, duck, owl, otter, grey heron, falcon, trout, crayfish... We completely renovated this building annexed to the mill in 2012 to install 2 adjoining cottages, rented exclusively together for reunions with friends, family, or cousins. Thus, you will spend your stay together, while preserving your privacy, because the 2 cottages are equipped identically and each have their own shower room and toilet, as well as a mezzanine bedroom with 3 beds and a ground floor with an additional bed (BZ 160x200 for one and sofa bed 140x200 for the other)... (more details see below). This idyllic place has a private terrace, overlooking the river and facing the forest. A covered outdoor area equipped with a large table and benches, barbecue and brazier invites you to eat all together and spend bucolic evenings. In summer, swimming is still possible in this river populated by a strain of wild trout and crayfish, guaranteeing the good quality of the water! The natural reservoir of the Mill serves as a natural swimming pool ;-) We also do not know the heat wave, because the nights are cool and pleasant to sleep well, and mosquitoes do not resist here, because the granite water does not allow them to reproduce (happiness!) As we are in the heart of the Sidobre, land of legends, on a granite plateau, you will find in the river bed places with very flat rocks, in order to practice yoga, or simply sunbathe, while listening to the murmur of the river. The riverfront is also suitable for practicing Tai Chi or Qi Gong at sunrise. Let yourself be charmed by the magic of the place, home to rare and protected birds, which are no longer found elsewhere. Facilities: Terrace: barbecue and sun loungers. Possibility to put your mountain bikes in a closed room. Mezzanine rooms (by the miller's ladder): We paid special attention to the bedding: You have 9 beds in total, the distribution of which is as follows: Gîte 1 The main bed in the bedroom is 160 cm x 200 cm, the single bed is 90 cm x 200 cm and the sofa bed on the ground floor is 160 cm x 200 cm. Gîte 2 The main bed in the bedroom is 160 cm x 200 cm, the single bed is 90 cm x 200 cm and the sofa bed on the ground floor is 140 cm x 200 cm suitable for 1 person. In each cottage you have a complete and very well-equipped kitchen, nothing is missing (toaster, traditional electric coffee maker, induction stove, fridge with 3* freezer compartment, blender, mini-oven, microwave), and many practical utensils for cooking. Ideal for 2 couples or 2 families wishing to spend a few days together, while having a private space for themselves. On-site activities: * tease the trout in the river at the bottom of the lodges or a sport fishing course starting from the Mill, * crayfish fishing on site, (from June to September, "crayfish & snack" outings are organized) * Walking tours or mountain-bike tours from the Mill are also among the favorite activities of our guests. * For our guests interested in history: Jean-Pierre will show you around our mill by immersing you in its turbulent past, totally involved in local history, between the Albigensian Crusade and the War of Religions, as if you were there! A journey through time & emotions guaranteed... Must-sees: The Sidobre (spectacular, near the Mill), The Museum of Protestantism (Conservatory), Cordes-sur-Ciel (favorite village of the French 2014), Goya Museum (Castres)... and much more! We live there, but we are discreet out of respect for our guests. However, we are always available to advise you, give you the right addresses, or simply chat on our terrace over a good coffee or a friendly drink, if you feel like it. *************************** Important: end-of-stay cleaning is not included in the rental because we prefer to maintain the rental rate and give our guests the opportunity to save on the cleaning package by cleaning themselves. However, the cleaning fee can be added as an option. Guest access The grounds, dike, island, mill reservoir and banks throughout our property. On-site activities: - From March to September: tease the trout on site or by leaving on the sport fishing course downstream of the mill more than 4 km - crayfish fishing (adults and children have a blast fishing crayfish the "Gabriele way" ;-) laughs guaranteed... - hiking - mountain biking (if you have one, bring it!) - hikes with a donkey from our friends 2 steps from the mill, who carries the picnic and your small child if they are tired - Swimming in a still clean river, beautiful corner 200 m from the mill, with waterfalls and natural "spas"... - Shiatsu & Yoga by our specialist Virginie (to be booked in advance) - near the Mill: go hiking with a donkey for a few hours, half a day or even the day. Other things to note We are a small European family (Franco-German) who love to host people from all over the world. We have been welcoming our guests for over 23 years and always have so much fun seeing vacationers from all over the world. From September to June from 2 nights. in July & August: rental of the gîte exclusively by the week, from Saturday 5 p.m. to Saturday 10 a.m., for 1, 2, 3 or 4 full weeks. Since the end-of-stay cleaning is not included in the rental, the cottages must be returned tidy and cleaned.
