The Apple Store is a cosy, rustic cottage apartment. It is located on the upper floor of the old 'Apple Store' converted barn. The Apple Store comprises of an open plan living area and brand new kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower over bath and full size bath and a separate WC. There is a private seating area on the balcony ideal for breakfast or morning coffee. Our renovated barn is a perfect place for a relaxing family break. Hot tub, sauna, gym use (must be booked at extra cost) The space In the cottage, we leave some provisions to welcome you on your arrival including coffee, tea, sugar, milk and juice as well as some treats. The Kitchen has all the comforts of home including microwave, fridge, oven, hob and all the utensils, crockery and cutlery you will need. A Smart TV is available with most viewing apps where you can use your own account. Free Wifi. Amble private parking for 1 car is available(if you are bringing 2 cars please let us know and we will let you know where to park). Outside space includes a private balcony area with seating - perfect place for your morning breakfast or coffee as it is a real suntrap on hot days. The Apple Store is located in the grounds of an old family home now updated and offering a complex of converted barns. Please see our other cottages 'The Potting Shed' and 'The Cellar Barn' which could be booked with extended family groups.The complex is set in 12 acres of grounds, gardens and an old apple orchard. Guests are invited to take a walk down the Orchard to see the beautiful views across to Cheddar Gorge or stroll around to meet the friendly animals. Our neighbours 'The Goat Shed - Crossfit Wyvern' allow our guests to use their facilities, including : swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. This can be arranged by booking and payment online directly with them at 'westhouse21'. This is not included in the price of the accommodation. Please note that the gym run classes at set times during the morning/evening and you may hear the background music they use at this time. There is also a cafe on site serving delicious homemade food, cakes and coffee. In the past the Apple Store was literally the old 'Apple Store' where all the apples from the large Victorian Garden and old orchard were sorted and stored. In the early 1900s the upper floor held the apple harvest until it was needed to serve the family in the large country house at the front of the property. The Apple Store has been renovated into a cosy rustic apartment entered via your own front door up a set of stone steps. There is a high chair and travel cot on request. (first request only) If you would like a little walk you can wander across the grass area of the walled garden and through into our apple orchard - if you come in September you are welcome to try the different varieties of apples. There is a seating area which looks over the Somerset Levels towards Cheddar Gorge and a grass area for ball games. A walk around the grounds gives you the opportunity to meet some unusual friends including : our friendly pig : Barry, Goats, Donkeys, Alpacas, sheep, chickens, ducks, wallabies and Saffron, our friendly Red Deer ... as well as our several cats and dogs. Guest access Our property is located in Chilton Polden in the heart of Somerset. PLEASE USE OUR DIRECTIONS TO LOCATE THE PROPERTY. There are well stocked village stores and post offices about a mile away in the adjoining village of Edington adnWoolavington. About 10 minutes walk into the village of Chilton Polden you will find the childrens play area and park (down Smallways Lane) which has swing, slides etc, a basketball hoop and large grass area for games. 2 pubs are within walking distance - The Leather & Lace, Chilton Polden and the Red Tile, Cossington. Chilton Polden is only a 4 mile drive from Junction 23 of M5 and is half way between Bridgwater and Street . The Polden Hills are attractive range of hills rising from the Somerset levels. Glastonbury is 7 miles away with its famous Abbey and Tor. The town of Street with the famous Clarks Village Shopping Outlet is only 5 miles from us. Cheddar Gorge and Caves can be seen across the moors and it is a 30 minute drive to view the spectacular scenery and visit the famous caves and Wookey Hole. It is a short drive to the Quantock Hills and Somerset Coast. Beaches at Burnham and Brean are 15 minutes away and also to be found here is the historic Golf Links. Other things to note We have 2 very friendly dogs, Bertie and Albe, who may want to say hello. This is a NO SMOKING property
