With 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, a large open-plan living / dining / kitchen area, a spacious gallery area, utility area and large hallway, mood lighting & underfloor heating, guests say wow! as they step inside. 2 out of 5 are ground floor wheelchair friendly bedrooms. Panoramic farm views. Free parking ++. Close to Livingston 8 miles. Central Edinburgh 18 miles by car. The space Craigengar will normally sleep a maximum of 18 guests though there are compromises. More than 12 guests attract an extra £50 per person per stay fee. Extra person fees should be paid to the owner during the stay. Please note the following: phone reception varies inside the lodge but there is a landline phone. ( free for incoming calls only ). Unlimited Wifi comes via community wifi and has good speeds but comes with a quota with the option of buying more quota if using the wifi a lot. We do charge £15 a day towards the lodge's fuel and electricity costs and collect this direct from guests during your stay. We do not ask for a cleaning charge on the understanding that our guests leave the lodge clean and tidy. Any damage needs to be paid for. We do charge a £20 per stay dog fee after prior approval. Craigengar Lodge is one of 4 self-catering cottages on Crosswoodhill Farm, if your numbers exceed 18 you may want to consider others on the farm ( or conversely if less than 12, think about one of the smaller ones you can view on our own website. Craigengar is good for guests with mobility problems as there are ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms. Great for guests who want a detached property where noise will not bother neighbours ( cows and sheep! ) We do sell logs for those who want a real fire in the hearth. Not really necessary due to the underfloor heating but nice for the ambience. Guest access Feel at the heart of the farm. Enjoy walking in the Pentland Hills from the doorstep. Stargaze ( we supply binoculars ). Relax on the long scud of decking. Large gas BBQ. Lots of our guests invite professionals into the lodge, eg beauty pamperers, , outside caterers. Other things to note There is an excellent tarmac track up to the house for a third of a mile from the main road. The house is surrounded by fields with grazing livestock.
