We welcome you to our home, Rua Resort, which we hope you see as your home while you are here. Rua - Maori for two, also harmony. We are settled back in NZ now, and are ready and willing to take care of your needs. However, if you get sick of us, the 560m2 house affords you all the privacy you would like. Our quarters are on the first floor. The second and third floors are for our distinguished guests. We promise peaceful sleep on the best quality beds, spacious bedrooms with luxurious furnishings, and jaw-droppingly large bathrooms. The two double and the triple rooms are our airbnb discounted rooms. However for a small upgrade fee you may opt for the very private Honeymoon Suite, or the newly appointed River suite. Even with the up-grade, these two larger suites are still considerably cheaper than the commercial rate. You can enjoy 360 degree views across rolling green hills, especially Mt Pirongia to the front. Take a wander over the 5 acres, where you will meet Alaska, the gentle alpaca, with his little family of sheep, Mama, Milo and Mongrel. Bella and Ella, the Timor ponies, Simon the Shetland and the little Sweetheart, a three year old miniature horse live in the paddocks directly in front of the hotel. We will prepare some sliced carrots or apples and they will all love you - albeit cupboard love! You will also feel like the pied piper, if the free range hens and bantams spot you. Too numerous to name here, they will follow you in the hopes of you giving them something to eat other than worms and bugs. You can collect the eggs, if they are co-operating during your visit, and enjoy an organic healthy breakfast, which we rather pride ourselves in. Sorry dog-lovers, no resident dogs, as we promise a quiet sleep. No roosters either. All our feathered and furry friends live outside, so there is no concern for guests with allergies. This inviting country environment is just 10 minutes drive from the CBD. Company groups enjoy the spacious living area to relax in after corporate events, convention attendance, etc. We can see the LDS Temple to the left, through the trees. So this is a nice option for Temple Visitors. Talk to us about family and group discounts. There is no charge for children under two years of age. We can accommodate larger numbers for family reunions and youth groups, for example. Wedding parties love to stay the night before. Brides and their families or Brides and their bridesmaids appreciate the big rooms, the ample wardrobes and the many large mirrors to get dressed by. Often, they like to use the property for wedding photos. The staircases and balconies and the outdoor views are superb backdrops. We have 8 bedrooms, sleeping from 2 to 4 each. We also have REAL Japanese futons which are very comfortable as extra beds. There are TVs in six of the bedrooms, with Netflix. There is free wifi throughout the house. Having run a school in Japan for two decades, we are fluent in Japanese, and have brought back lots of fun things, such as a great collection of board games and heaps of unique toys to entertain little people. The kitchen is a caterers dream, so enjoy it. We have a BBQ for your use, with a $30 charge for gas and cleaning. Having guided tours to this area, from Japan, for years, we have put together some great plans for day trips, using Rua Resort as your base. Secret, free hot mineral pools in Rotorua, the best sushi in the Waikato, Beach walks in Raglan, Markets in Cambridge, Antique stores in Paeroa - these are a few highlights. We can arrange farm visits, horse treks, whatever your fancy, we can be your concierge. You can drive 5 minutes back down to Dinsdale for all your shopping needs. The large Honeymoon Suite, Rua Suite, has it's own fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. Other rooms share the massive kitchen downstairs for self-catering. There will be a nice selection of Herb teas, regular tea and coffee available at all times. For more room pictures check out our website.
