Our highland lodge sits on the shores of Loch Lochy in the Great Glen of Scotland. A secluded location perfect for local trails, climbing the highest mountain in the UK or just relaxing by the water. This unique location is perfect for splendid isolation, road trips, and special events. Every room has its own en suite private toilet/shower, view of the loch, and outdoor area to enjoy the sunsets. Loch Lochy is on your doorstep and there are views up and down the loch which give you an amazing feeling of space as you watch the different boats travelling along the Caledonian Canal. We offer the chance to cook your own food or use the local restaurants (which also do take away). Use Smokey Oak as a base to plan trips to the major attractions in the highlands. Guest access In our 6 bedroom lodge guests have access to a guest kitchen and common room. There is also outdoor seating areas to take in the views. During your stay Having 20 years guide experience your host will be available to answer any questions you have and also give you information on the local area with its rich clan history and geological story. No matter what your travel plan is please ask your host as there could some great tips and wee secrets to see along the way. Other things to note Smokey Oak is 3.5 miles from the nearest shop/pub/restaurant so please take any food/alcohol that you need with you for the guest kitchen.The lodge is at the end of a single track road (with passing places) so please take care if you are not used to driving on highland roads. *Please note : I send out detailed and easy to follow directions to every booking guest. I would ask that guests try to arrive before 8pm to minimise the disruption to other guests.
