Ferme Gravier 10; Tour in nature

"Gravier 10" is an old farm preserved as original as possible. This is over a bumpy dirt road along meadows and a lake and through a mixed forest over 1.5 km after a challenging descent. In other words, it is surrounded by nature without direct neighbors, at 720m, in the southern Vosges on the edge of the "park naturel régional des Ballons des Vosges". At the farm is a plot of about 3 hectares where you can enjoy nature. The farm is cozy and basic. The space There are 2 bedrooms (each with a double bed 1m40 and 1m60), there is another sofa bed and some beds that can be added in these bedrooms. There is a kitchen with wood stove and also a living room with soapstone stove. In addition, there is a simple bathroom (with bathtub and sink) and toilet. Only the above rooms are heatable. The former "grange, barn" can be used as an additional living space (summer and mid-season). The former stable "écurie" is used as a workshop and for wood storage. The upper floor is open and can be used as a multipurpose "play or sleep" space. In the basement, you will find garden and outdoor play equipment. Gravier 10 is offered for up to 6 guests. The farm and garden offers the opportunity for everyone to create his or her own place and not to disturb others without feeling lost. We hope you like to enjoy "back to basics", because that is what it is, in the house you will find little unnecessary luxury, so there are some thresholds that you have to cross because not everything works as in a modern home (for example, there is no tap water, so there is little pressure, you sometimes have to go through the cooler barn to go to the bathroom and toilet, etc.). On the other hand, some adjustments have already been made to meet some of the wishes of the people of the modern world (since December 2017 there is electricity, gas lamps were replaced by electric LED lamps, wood stoves were supplemented with convectors, etc.). Guest access You need a car to reach the farm. Keep in mind that the last 1.5 km is on a dirt road. There is plenty of parking space at the house. Other things to note Bring your own: - Sheets, pillowcases and fitted sheets (there are 2 double beds (1m40), 2 single folding beds, a double sofa bed (duvet covers are provided); in addition, you can sleep in the attic (without heating) on mats with a sleeping bag. Also here, is a single bed - Towels, dish towels, ecological dishwashing product, etc. Kitchen: Most kitchen materials can be found there. There are also basic herbs and dry food available (pasta, rice, tea bags, coffee…). Water comes from a higher source. There is always running water, but there is little pressure as we are not connected to tap water (this is part of the charm of life "as it used to be") However, there is a hot water boiler that only supplies the taps in the bathroom and toilet with hot water. The pre-sawn wood in the "écurie" can be used for the wood stoves. This wood still needs to be split into smaller pieces. You can use an axe or the cleaving machine for this. There is internet via a livebox (telephone connection), we cannot guarantee that it will always work. There is no TV connection. In the house you have no mobile phone reception or 4G, but at the intersection of the field roads, a few walking passes from the house, this is the case.
