One step inside Delano Bed & Breakfast and you'll feel yourself leaving the hectic pace of the 21st Century behind. We treat our guests as family, and want your stay to be one you remember long after you are back home. Your reservation includes a bedroom/1 Queen bed and private bathroom. Guests will find a well appointed interior complete with quality period furnishings and fine art from early-mid Century European artists. Our home was built in 1910 by Morris Schollenberger. He began the first Auto dealership in Wichita. There are many books filled with rich history about Wichita and the Delano area on the shelves in the parlor. Guests are welcome to browse thru the library and relax in the parlor or walk around the flower gardens or sit in one of the several sitting areas in around the gardens. The Schollenberger Room has a Queen size bed and a large closet. The private bathroom is original and has a large bathtub with a shower attachment added. The Penny tile on the floor will take you back to a time of early 1900's. In addition to the guest bedroom, the guest will have access to the Parlor, living room, & Dining room. The kitchen is available for guests to use the refrigerator if needed, but cooking is not available. We do have a microwave available if needed. Please let us know if you will be using the kitchen items. The front porch is a wonderful place to relax. We have chairs and a swing for your enjoyment. We are as available to our guests as they want. We love to visit with guests, but will give them the privacy they want if that is their wish. We are in a residential area. As you sit on the front porch you will see families walking their dogs, or riding bicycles. It is a quiet neighborhood that has a flair for the arts. We are walking distance to the river and the Delano District has a lot of special shops and eating establishments that are unique to Delano. We are walking distance to the FREE public Trolley, as well as the city bus route. There are bicycles for rent also in very close distance from Delano Bed & Breakfast. The Airport is a short 10 minute ride. Wichita uses Uber and taxi service. There are several sitting areas in the gardens and a fire pit is available for guests. The Garden Tea Room is open for viewing. If someone wants to enjoy "Tea time", Sherri is happy to provide you with a special experience of tea and sweet treats at an additional charge.
