A one-of-a-kind post and beam house. It sits on a private 100-acre island on the West River that you access by going over a covered bridge. There is an around-the-island trail system complete with a 50-foot suspension bridge. The views of the river from the house are amazing! My place is 10 miles from Stratton, Jamaica State Park is a mile away, and there is a waterfall 5 miles away. The space Four bedrooms - master bedroom has a queen bed, couch and full bath with jacuzzi tub. The kids bedroom sports a bunk bed system is hand crafted with logs and branches and sports an elevated walkway, trap door and rope ladder. It has a single bed over a double bed. The kids room has their own full bathroom. One upstairs bedroom has a double bed and a single bed and the other upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and two single beds (best views of the river in the house ) . Each of the rooms of our dream house has special touches down to the hand made tiles in the kitchen and bathrooms and branches in the railing systems to the massive 30-foot-high interior fireplace is fashioned after a Lew French design, and the spiral staircase to the loft has to be seen to be appreciated. I sit for hours listening to the river outside, as it is only 30 feet from the house. Some days we put on our snowshoes and explore the island. We have just completed an around-the-island trail system that shows off its beauty. My girls love looking for animal tracks. We have deer and beaver on the island. I have seen lynx tracks, but have never seen one. Oh, and we have a 6-person jacuzzi that looks out over the river. Guest access The house is all yours when you rent it. The 100-acre island has a great trail system to explore. There are only 3 houses on the island that is accessed by a private covered bridge.
