Our place is a 1980's barn/woodshop that never housed animals that has been converted into a lovely three bedroom home.We are 20 minutes from Rikert 2019 hosts of the Bill Koch Festival and the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. The place is light and airy with southern and eastern sun.The main living room has 13 foot ceilings with lots of couches, arm chairs and places to hang out, read and or relax. We are in the heart of the Green Mountains with skiing and colleges, an easy drive from the house. The place is tastefully decorated with antiques and family pieces. Two of the bedrooms have king sized beds with the third room has a queen sized bed all of which are very comfortable. The entire house is covered with carpets except for the kitchen. Wall to wall carpeting intermixed with orientals rugs in different parts of the house. We expect people to respect the place and treat it as nicely as they would their own home. There is a full service kitchen that folks can use that is a part of the main living space, coffee makers, tea supplies and all the utensils and cookware to create and or serve any and all meals. Rochester has Mac's which is the local market/grocery downtown that comes with a full meat market, liquor store and a very nice selection of organic meats and produce. Rochester also has North Hollow Farm which raises grass fed beef, chicken and pork as well as fresh eggs. North Hollow has a farm store on Route 100 a quarter mile north of Quarry Hill Road and the USFS Service. I can always be reached either by text, cell or email. If I am not in town I am just over the mountain and i have one of my neighbors on call. The house is on the edge of a lovely meadow on a quiet street. There are only eight houses on the road and the road is over a mile in length. When it is warmer out back of the house and across the meadow is a lovely beaver pond. In summer there are cows that graze the field from time to time. In the winter you need a car to get around. In summer we have had folks both hiking through the green mountains and riding their bikes. There is a fantastic bike shop in Rochester, Green Mountain Bikes that does rentals for anytime of year. Doon and his crew take very good care of people and they handle road, mountain and fat bikes. They also have evening rides on mountain bikes that folks love to take part in. In the winter in Vermont roads are well maintained, that being said folks should have all weather or winter tires, some folks will feel better with four wheel drive vehicles or front wheel drive. The house is covered with carpets and we would appreciate it if folks brought slippers and did not wear their street shoes in the house. There is a mudroom as you enter from the drive where folks can change their footwear. There is also a hanging rack on the back porch where folks can hang their skis if they are taking them off of our out of their cars at the end of the day.
