Chloe's Retreat is a 1200sf charming home in the heart of Easton, super pet friendly, walking distance to event venue's, shopping, and restaurants. Style is Shabby-Chic. 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, sun room, bonus game/play room on the third floor. Semi-secluded outdoor 100sf patio plus a large fenced in 2700sf yard. WiFi, Roku TV, clothes washer/dryer, Coffee maker. Master bdrm - 1 FULL size bed (NOT a Queen) Second bdrm - Trundle bed- 2 single beds Full bath up, 1/2 bath down Fully stocked house with lots of little thoughtful touches. We have left a lot of the old hardware on purpose - door knobs, hinges, phone jacks as it speaks to its history. What some people would call run-down, we call it uniquely charming. Yes there is a door knob from the 20's 40's and 70's. It has an enormous yard for its location, only 5 streets from downtown center. Here are a couple of considerations before you book. 1. Allergies. It's an eclectic older home with original walls and hardwood floors; we have a lot of pets coming through, not just dogs, but cats, gerbils, rabbits and even parrots. SO If you are regularly taking allergy med's for everyday use, including grass and pollen, we may not be the right place for you. 2. As it is an old house the stairs to the second floor are slightly steeper and narrower. 3. Full Bath has no bathtub; it's a step-up oversized shower. 4. We are always doing little improvements. Many improvements have come from you, our guests. We welcome improvement ideas all the time. 5. If something is broken we try to fix it as soon as humanly possible You will access to everything. There is a basement with a dehumidifier running 24/7 (multiple days of rains, seeping can occur). The two main living floors, plus a third floor non-electronics game room. There is limited temperature control on the third floor (electric heat), this room can get warm or cool, depending on the season. We live nearby so if you need anything, just ask. The area is full of investors upgrading properties; the people are from all demographic, ethnic and political backgrounds. Everyone is kind, helpful and resourceful. Do not hesitate to ask someone a question. Our neighborhood is a reflection of Easton's history of manufacturing & neighborhood values and its current economic and cultural rebound. It is a safe & neighborly street where you help people, whether you know them or not. As you walk towards downtown, you'll notice several commercial properties in various states of renovation, large and small; some have already opened as markets, taverns, distribution, restaurants, etc. Depending on your pace, the city center is a 10-15 minute walk. We are on 8th street, as you walk to downtown, you get the feel of change. Once you hit 6th street, you will be at the top of a hill and you will view downward; feel the glorious architecture and vibe. Markets, a large theater, a Nature Center, "Pie & Tart", Art Studios, local cafe's, restaurants, "Carmelcorn Shop", city center monument, and so on. Close to public Transportation and walking distance to the main square in Easton The house is about 100 years old. It is eccentric and eclectic. Its only 5 streets North of the downtown circle and where everything is at, about a 10+ minute walk, depending on your pace. It's a 17m walk from city hall/bus terminal; a 13m walk to Buck Hall on Lafayette College. You can take a bus from NYC, walk to the house and all the downtown offerings. About 100 yards south is Porters Pub and 100 yards north is a Rite Aid, with other highly recommended places close by. We wash every bed linen, pillowcase and towel after every visit - there is no 'recycling'. In addition, we disinfect every door knob, sink handle, toilet handle after every visit. If you have a cleanliness concern - please feel free to reach out to us immediately for corrective action. The house is vintage, most of the walls and floors are original. We've received feedback from a very small number of guests with self-admitting super-sensitive noses, of odors. It's been a well-loved house over the decades. We take great pride in keeping the house as clean as possible, especially after our frequent fur-baby visits.
