Description

A stunning, unique hideaway, in the woodlands on Priory Bay beach, with a mezzanine deck where the children can gaze at the stars from their beds. Please note that the mezzanine is for 2 children or 2 young adults, and is not for grown-ups. Along with its sister yurt, Caribbean Corner, both give a desert island experience, only 2.5 hours from London and 15 minutes from Portsmouth by RIB. We now have a stunning event yurt for milestone events & weddings. If interested, please contact us. The space Beautifully constructed by Island Yurts, on inspiration of the Mongolian yurt, this idyllic abode will provide you with an unforgettable experience. The yurt has a wooden king size bed, side tables, a beach wardrobe, a lounge area, dining area and an en-suite bathroom with all the essentials ... a roll-top Victorian bath, a flushing toilet, basin, heated towel rail and views to the stars. There is also a private outdoor hot water shower with an uninterrupted view of the beach. The handcrafted oak kitchen with has a Belfast sink, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and a twin induction hob. The wide glass doors open on to the terrace with a gas barbecue, seating area and loungers. The view from here is over the idyllic sandy Priory Bay beach. The yurt is in a private setting surrounded by majestic native woodland. The main feature is the sheltered gently shelving sandy beach. It is completely protected from the prevailing winds and the morning sun warms the sea on a rising tide. On a spring tide you can take a morning walk all the way to St Helens Fort, getting wet only up to your knees. If you're lucky enough to come in spring, the woods are carpeted with wild garlic, bluebells, daffodils, primroses and wild violets. We have an abundant bird life and delightful red squirrels. Please note there are steps up to the yurt terrace and accommodation. The parking is right next to the yurt marked 'Hideaway'. Please note for your convenience the following items are provided cutlery, crockery, glasses, mugs, pots, pans, bowls, salt & pepper, induction cooker, toaster, kettle, Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Guest access Access is through the old Priory Hotel gates (via Caws Avenue, Nettlestone then into Priory Drive, and Priory Road) and down a country track (well marked). There is parking for one car adjacent to your yurt. There is also a private path down to the beach, just 30 metres from the yurt. Other things to note The property is adjacent to the historic Priory Bay Hotel, which is currently closed, awaiting refurbishment. There are many other hostelries and restaurants in the local towns of St Helens, Seaview and Bembridge. Our welcome book in the yurt has loads of information.
