Villa Darakorn is a boutique, resort-style estate nestled within a lush botanical garden. The property consists of one Main House (Currently listing at Airbnb) and two independent bungalows. While each group has their own private accommodations, the expansive gardens are a shared sanctuary for all guests to enjoy the diverse plant life and serene atmosphere. The space Villa Darakorn is a collection of traditional wooden houses nestled amidst rolling mountains and tranquil streams. Beyond its breathtaking natural surroundings, the estate is renowned for its lush arboretum, established in 1989 by the late Mr. Sawet Piamphongsant—former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance under the administration of H.E. M.R.W. Seni Pramoj. Driven by a deep passion for nature, Mr. Sawet meticulously preserved the land’s indigenous flora while introducing rare and precious botanical species from across the globe. Today, the Ruen Darakorn Arboretum thrives across a diverse landscape of hillsides, riverbanks, and natural ponds. It has become a sanctuary for over 300 varieties of valuable plants, including Rhododendrons, Red Maples, Magnolias, Avocados, and the rare Philippine Angiopteris fern. This botanical haven offers both serene beauty and an enriching educational experience for all visitors. During the winter months, the gardens come alive with a vibrant tapestry of blooming flowers, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who wanders through this peaceful retreat. Guest access Guests staying in the Main House have exclusive and private access to the entire interior of the house and the attached wrap-around deck. Shared Spaces: The botanical gardens and walking paths are shared with guests staying in the two onsite bungalows. We kindly ask all guests to respect the privacy of those staying in the Main House by staying within the garden paths and avoiding the Main House deck area. Other things to note Villa Darakorn operates as a small resort compound. Please note that there may be other guests on the premises during your stay. However, each accommodation is designed to offer its own sense of privacy. We ask all our guests to be mindful of noise and property boundaries to ensure everyone has a peaceful experience.
