Description
Set in the beautiful Barle Valley in Exmoor National Park, Northmoor is a perfect place to relax and get away from it all or explore Exmoor. Local town Dulverton is a mile and a half walk downstream with restaurants, cafes, supermarket and many interesting local shops. The space Built in 1856 by John Arthur Locke as a large country retreat, Northmoor still proudly fulfils its original vocation and offers a perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the fresh air that the Barle Valley offers. Designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the abundance of oxygen loving mosses and lichens than can be found in the surrounding woodlands it really is a place to breathe in the best our countryside has to offer. The large kitchen with Aga, range cooker and American style fridge freezer is well equipped with everything you should need during your stay. The snooker room, along with a large board game selection will provide plenty of indoor entertainment. A disabled access bathroom and bedroom on the ground floor, and no steps throughout the ground floor mean that Northmoor can be enjoyed by all. The grounds and gardens extend to a total area of 95 acres and feature upkept gardens and lawns around the house, our working walled kitchen garden, former tennis lawn (for sports) and extensive woodlands and parkland which you are of course free to roam and explore. If the 95 acres aren't enough then the open moorland of Exmoor is only a 5 minute drive or half hour walk up the hill. The gardens are open to all and social distancing must be followed where necessary. The building is very well centrally heated with individual thermostats on each radiator plus an open fire in the living room which is a great place to spend the evening or in the TV room with Netflix installed. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the house and grounds while they are here, we would like you to consider it your own home from home. Other things to note We are in the Exmoor National Park, with stunning scenery and easily accessible tourist information in the local village of Dulverton, 1.5 miles (it houses the National Parks headquarters). Dogs are welcome at an extra charge of £20 each.
