Are you planning a trip to Maryland for business or pleasure? You can get the feel of "suburbia"; yet be are a short drive to Downtown Baltimore and less than an hour from Washington, DC. Only 10 minutes from BWI Airport or Amtrak; and we are 6 minutes from the Maritime Conference Center. Unless you are a returning guest, you'll need to coordinate your arrival, so that one of us can personally greet you. After check-in, you'll be given an entry code, so that you can come and go, as you please. Please note: Not only do we live in this house, so does a semi-reclusive cat. She generally does not hang out in the bedroom--unless you leave your door open; but if you are allergic, this is not a good match. This listing has just gotten a major overhaul! It has twice the floor space of the previous one. The bedroom is on the second floor of our home. You will have a full bathroom to yourself. It is right next to the bedroom. We only book one guest (or group), at a time, inside our house. So even though your bathroom is not attached, the only other people that may be in the hallway are me and Kenneth-- and we have our own bath. Use of the air mattress is automatic for 3 guests. If you are a party of 2 and want to use the air mattress, that MUST BE DISCUSSED IN ADVANCE! The twin sized air mattress is very comfortable, but it takes up a lot of floor space. This arrangement works well for parents with a child OR 3 adults of the same gender. For a mixed gender group, you may want to consider the 2 bedroom listing. While not "historical", the house was built in 1932 and has the narrow hallways and occasionally creaking stairs--which are typical of an older house. Guests are welcome to use the living room (shared with us). Since you have a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in your own space; use of the kitchen, must be discussed and explicitly approved in advance. Our bedroom is on the same hallway as yours, but we have our own bathroom, so we won't be in your way. My availability at home, varies greatly. But even if I'm not at home, I try to regularly check my email. Barring an emergency, email is preferred over phone calls and texts, if you have any questions or concerns. There's a guest guide waiting in your room, which contains details about the area's transportation, shopping, restaurants and tourists attractions. In general, we are easily accessible to the airport, Amtrak station, the Maritime Conference Center, 2 casinos and Downtown Baltimore (including the Convention Center). We have street parking, if you are driving. We're also walking distance to the light rail system, which can save you a lot on public transportation. Lyft and (especially) Uber are generally pretty reliable in this area. If you are traveling to/from DC, I strongly suggest using the MARC train, from the BWI Amtrak Station. We DO NOT accept third party bookings. The person booking the reservation, must be one of the guests who is staying! We ask that all guests provide ID.
