Ideal for longer stays with excellent commuter links for London, Harpenden, St Albans and Stevenage. Relax and enjoy footpath walks, including the Ayot Green Way, to gastro pubs. I have been a super host for 7 years letting The White Cottage Garden Annexe, please read my reviews there. The space One of my two Airbnb's in the substantial grounds of The White Cottage, the accommodation is a self-contained half of the main house. It offers a large lounge/dining room with stunning inglenook fireplace and an upstairs bedroom with vaulted, beamed ceiling and en suite bathroom. It has its own private front door and a rear door which leads out to your own patio area, with plenty of other private seating areas in the large (acre plus) riverside garden for your use. There are splendid rural views, and amazing local walks in the countryside along the River Lea. There is access to a five-seater hot tub, with beautiful riverside views from the covered, heated seating area. It is located in my garden adjacent to the river Lea. Please note: There is an additional £15.00 charge for use of the hot tub. This facility is also used by other guests. Available during the day on an ad hoc basis (for a moderate additional charge), the hot tub should be booked with Sally during your stay for an evening soak, either pre 9.00pm or for 9.00pm 'til midnight, but there is always flexibility with timings. There are basic kitchenette facilities...hob, microwave/oven, mini oven, toaster, kettle...but please note there is no mains water supply. However, there is a hot water boiler/sink, drinking water supply, and I am also happy to put your plates through my dishwasher. I live in the other side of the cottage with my own entrance. Private off-street parking. Excellent country walks on the doorstep. Great local pubs and restaurants nearby. Numerous home delivery options are also available. If you're considering a Friday and Saturday night break, please contact me if a later departure or Sunday night discounted stay appeals. Guest access The White Cottage, which dates back to the 1500s, nestles in a stunning rural location on the River Lea, adjacent to the Brocket Hall Estate. The accommodation, with its exposed original beams, offers a perfect 'staycation' retreat in an idyllic rural setting: ideal for ramblers looking to walk the Hertfordshire Way or couples wanting a tranquil retreat. Central London is less than hour away. The first class accommodation is situated over two floors. A large bedroom with luxurious french antique bed and en-suite bathroom. Downstairs there is a large lounge/dining area, stunning Inglenook fireplace and kitchenette area for basic food preparation. Washing facilities are available for guests having a longer stay. Please liaise with Sally. Explore my riverside garden which has been included in The National Garden Scheme 'Yellow Book'. Or just sit by the river Lea watching the abundant bird life here. Other things to note The White Cottage is in a rural location and you will need a car or taxi to get to restaurants, train stations or shops. However, a good country walk will get you to several excellent pubs for lunch.
