The Salty Shack

Salty Shack is a unique guesthouse hand-crafted & built by ourselves with a high elevation overlooking Crescent Head front beach & creek, Killuke mountains & the town below. Nestled high among the mango and banana trees, salty shack is fully self-contained and private where you'll have a relaxing time staying here. The deck has a beautiful day bed & stools to sit and soak up the view & sea breeze. Stroll through our garden to pick seasonal fruit, veggies & herbs. The space Launched Nov '19, we built the salty shack using locally milled hardwood timber and even the clay tiles are hand-crafted & glazed by us making it a one-of-a-kind place to stay. Everything you see in the Salty Shack, we have crafted using our hands - all except the plumbing and electrical work (that's a good thing as we aren't sparkies or plumbers!) Follow us on Instagram @_thesaltyshack Guest access You will have the entire guesthouse & deck to yourself...although our cat George will come check you out if he didn't greet you at your car. We also have a small puppy called Herbie who will be doing his puppy thing outside during the day so please ensure you shut the gate when you arrive and leave. We welcome you to share our beautiful backyard - explore what the garden has growing including fruit trees like bananas, mangos & citrus. Rhys built a brand new private hot + cold outdoor shower just below the salty shack in summer 21. ☆You can pick Mangos from your deck when they are ripe! ☆ Our veggie & herb garden is also full of seasonal home-grown produce for you to enjoy. *****Please note: we do not provide wi-fi or have a smart tv (just a regular tv)...great time for a digital break!***** We have a laundry which you are welcome to use at the back of the main house near the water tank. Please only park on the nature strip out the front parallel to the garden hedge, thank you. For bookings from 23rd of Dec 22 til Mid Jan 23, our main house will also be rented out. If you need more rooms for more guests, please book it separately - the sandminer's shack. Guests of the Salty shack have exclusive access to the deck of the salty shack and the car park on the nature strip. The outdoor shower, backyard and laundry are shared spaces between both houses. Other things to note We have two cats George and Noodles and one puppy Herbie who live with us and you will be sharing their territory. They have free reign throughout our house & garden. This may mean they will come to visit you. If you don't want them in the guesthouse please don't let them in. They are very friendly & affectionate and are more than happy to meet and greet new people. Please be aware Herbie may greet you at the gate-please do not let him out. He is small and easy to manage if he does greet you. If you don't like animals, dogs or cats then please do not book our place as we will not lock them up or remove them during your stay. please ensure you shut the gate whenever you are arriving or leaving so that our dog or toddler does not escape and run on to the road. We also have a toddler who is quiet most of the time but we play in the garden during the day where we laugh and chat so you may hear this. Registration Details PID-STRA-13852-2
