The Golden Quarter Farm is 150-acre waterfront, nature preserve, centrally located 5 miles from Assateague Island and its wild ponies, small town charm of Berlin, and OC Boardwalk. With a pool, kayaks, SUP, hiking trails, bikes, and birding, there's little reason to leave the property! Max of 8 adults. No parties. No Pets. Renters must sign a Rental Agreement & provide $250 refundable damage deposit. Pool open April-Sept 30th, NOT heated. 5% local room tax will be collected after booking. LOCATION: Just 5 miles from Ocean City, Assateague Island's wild ponies, and the small town charm of Berlin. THE LAND: The setting of Golden Quarter Farm is its draw! There is so much to do right the property, there is little reason to leave! 150 acres on a nature preserve with a mile-long stretch of waterfront and private pool. Guests have access to the pier, just steps from the house. Here you can go crabbing (crab pots included with rental), launch a kayak, fish, or just enjoy the view and birds from the patio furniture. Three kayaks, 1 SUP, 4 life vests, as well as 2 adult bikes and 2 kid bikes included in your rental! We don't have fishing rods quite yet. The pool with surrounding patio and additional cooking fire pit is just steps from the house. For more activities, we have maintained trails which guests can bike, run, or walk on throughout the 150 acres. There is also a basketball hoop, outdoor grill, hammock, fire pit overlooking the water, and outdoor table tennis. This is a nature lover's paradise! With over 50 species of birds, as well as toads, deer, turtles, and so many other animals just outside the door. We also now have a Tesla charger! *The driveway, and part of the property is shared with our family house. Though, where guests stay and the waterfront, is entirely private. THE HOUSE: At over 200 years old, the farm house has a lot of history and charm! First Floor: Consists of the main living area with family room and eat-in kitchen. Directly from the living area, guests can directly access the "back" porch, patio with additional dinning table and chairs, as well as outdoor grill, and short brick walking path to the pier. The "front" door is also off of the main living area, where guests can walk just a few steps to the pool! Also found on the first floor is our "Nature Bedroom," which provides access directly to the outdoors and outdoor shower. It has a queen sized bed as well as interior full bath in the hallway. Second Floor: Master Bedroom suite with king sized bed, day bed, private master bath (shower, large soaking tub, double vanity sink, toilet). "Kids' Bedroom" on this floor has a king sized bed and twin bed. The 3rd bedroom on this level is our "Treehouse Bedroom" named from the beautiful views from the windows. It has a king sized bed. Both of these bedrooms share a hall bath (shower, toilet, vanity). The laundry room, with full sized washer and dryer is found on this second level. A few notes and answers to FAQs. PLEASE read prior to booking or requesting to book: - All guests are required to sign and return a rental agreement shortly after booking. - After booking, guests will be requested to pay a $250 refundable damage deposit. This is done through Air BnB and will be returned within 24 hours of check out and compliance with house rules. - We can only accommodate up to 8 adults and 2 children. Children are 10 and under. - Our house is not handicap accessible. - The internet to our country home is unreliable. When it works, it's very fast! But, heavy weather (snow, wind, rain) can disrupt the service, despite our VERY best efforts. - Children should not be left unattended outside given these house's proximity to the water. Adults should also exercise caution around the water. - Events, such as weddings, and other gatherings, are not permitted on the property. Please don't book. No exceptions can be made. - We do not guarantee firewood for the fire pit; however, there is usually left over wood available. It is also easily purchased from a store in walking distance from the house. - The pool is not heated, and is open May-September. - We do not offer fishing rods or fishing supplies, please bring your own. We do have crab pots available. - We do have a few bikes available: 2 adult, 2 youth sized, which you are welcome to use! Please bring your own helmet :). Rental License #1302 There is a local property manager available should you have any issues during your stay. Our family home is also found on the property. You will need a car during your stay. This is not a property for beach week or large college parties. Zoning requirements prevent us from hosting events, sorry! Please, don't ask. There are no exceptions that can be made to this policy! Because of plumbing, we are able to accommodate a total of 10 guests, but only 8 adults at a time. Children count if 10 and under. We require that every guest complete and return a Rental Agreement as well as Pool Liability Waiver within 4-8 hours of booking, in order to complete the reservation. Guests are required to provide a $250 damage deposit shortly after booking. Please note that your booking is not complete until this is done. We provide bath towels, wash cloths, as well as bed linens for the number of guests in your party. We also provide generous starter supplies of paper products (toilet paper, paper towels), as well as dish soap, laundry detergent, and cleaning supplies. We've stated this already, but it's worth mentioning again. We are a completely smoke-free home and property. We absolutely do not allow smoking anywhere on the property, even in your car. Smoke travels! Please only rent if you are able to respect and abide by our policies. Our family members with allergies will really appreciate it! Please note that we cannot make exceptions to our pets rule! Even if your furry animal is well behaved, house broken, etc. We cannot allow pets. Thank you for understanding. Our internet is unreliable. When it works, it is very high speed and can support multiple streaming devices. But, unfortunately, if there is heavy rain/snow/wind, the internet can go out. We welcome any tech savvy people to help us fix this! :).
