Our spacious home is nestled at the top of Rose Mountain in The Catskills, perfect for a family retreat. Approximately 2.5 hour drive from New York City and only 10 minutes from Belleayre. Spend your time relaxing in our cabin with the seclusion and privacy of 5 acres of forest and meadow. Our property runs along a small creek in Big Indian, NY, with sweeping views of Slide Mountain. Centered in the middle of the Catskills its easy to explore many local restaurants and bars within an hour drive. Originally built in the 1950s Rose Mountain House has been updated with modern amenities with a 70s twist. Very instaworthy! The house includes access to a small creek and its own private meadow, suitable for games, and relaxing. The home is surrounded by a large yard and woods. Perfect for escaping a busy city life. Inside you will find a fully equipped kitchen with all the tools to make a homemade meal with fresh produce from the area. You'll also find two wood burning stoves, a fireplace, 3 bedrooms (all Casper or Leesa mattresses), 2 full baths, tub and steam shower. We also have and extensive record collection, as well as DVDs, VHS, board games and Wi-Fi. Please ask us anything. Big Indian is a small hamlet in the Catskill Mountains. Close to hiking, skiing and swimming. As well as shops, restaurants and breweries. Located near the top of Rose Mountain you're sure to have seclusion and privacy as well as beautiful views of Slide Mountain. You'll need a car to get to Rose Mountain. If renting in winter, we recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle. They do plow the road very regularly. If you are coming from NYC, some guests can take the Trailways Bus to Pine Hill, about 6 minute drive to the house. Someone will need to pick up them at the bus station. You can't walk to the house, as the road is long and steep. There is plenty of parking available at the house. Phoenicia and Margaretville are both 20 minute drives in either direction. Pine Hill is about a 7 minute drive. Also if you are allergic to poison ivy be mindful when you explore as some might grow in random areas (which is completely in Mother Nature's control and not ours.)
