Description
Early Winter SPECIAL OFFERS! Attached to our graceful Elizabethan Manor House and set within nearly four acres is this quirky yet comfortable ground floor conversion of a hop kiln which has been recently refurbished to a high standard. The accommodation faces south and is flanked by two enormous three hundred year old cedar trees on a quiet country lane with breathtaking countryside views. The space Compact but cleverly designed, the accommodation which is all set out on the ground floor level has three bedrooms - two of which are doubles with king sized beds - and a twin room. There is a family bathroom with a good sized bath incorporating a modern shower suite. The bathroom is also equipped with a washing machine and condensing drier which are housed in a separate cupboard. The open plan sitting / dining room and kitchen is dominated by an imposing old brick inglenook fireplace which is fitted with a working wood-burning stove - perfect to gather around in the winter or on a chilly autumn day after a brisk country walk on the nearby Malvern Hills. There’s a safe enclosed and low walled south facing private terrace accessed through French doors from the kitchen area. The accommodation has been well equipped throughout with hard wired fire and smoke detectors and new electrical wiring with plug sockets and integral USB ports. Super high speed fibre WiFi is available free of charge. We really want this to be a home away from home and have equipped it with everything from a Scrabble board game to a potato masher. And if there’s something that you find that you need, like a phone lead or an extra towel, we are close at hand to assist. Most importantly though, our aim is to provide clean and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful and beautiful country house setting where you really can just tune out and relax. Hop Kiln Cottage sits alongside the owner’s manor house on a quiet country lane with some breathtaking countryside and uninterrupted views towards the local farmer's blueberry fields - if you are up early enough in late summertime, you will see the fruit pickers arriving. The landscape is Herefordshire at its finest with beautiful rural views towards the West Malvern hills on one side and the nearby picturesque and historic market town of Ledbury and beyond to Gloucestershire and Wales on the other. Guest access Your accommodation is annexed to and set amongst the grounds of our lovely Elizabethan stone farm house which was built around 1570, with its own access. There is a parking area next to the entrance of the cottage which is fenced to provide you with privacy and security and there is an enclosed and fenced paddock for your own use - very popular for guests bringing their own pets. The gardens around the house are private but we are always happy to show you around. Other things to note We very much welcome (up to two) well behaved dogs. Don’t forget to list your dog(s) when you book as there is a nominal charge for pets to help with extra cleaning. Some of the exterior photos are in the process of being updated since redecoration has taken place in early 2025. There is also a new privet hedge lining the driveway to the property which is not yet shown in the photos or arrival guide and these will be updated soon.
