The wood room retreat is in the wooded area of our forest garden at Merriott House. Very private and quiet. Birdsong. Silence. Open air kitchen. Simple and sufficient. Separate bathroom across the garden with shower and toilet for sole use of cabin residents. Washing machine available. . Electric power in bedroom. Robs chickens live near the cabin. Please ensure visiting dogs are kept under control. Our piano is available for guest use in the main house The space This is a peaceful woodland retreat with warm dry bedroom. The bed has a double futon mattress with a topper for softness . This is made of cotton flock and is unsprung. It is soft but not bouncy and is very good for backs . We provide the first bag of fire wood; subsequent bags are sold for £10. Bathroom for guest use only down steps. Shared washing machine available . A very quiet retreat. Would suit people who like self sufficient lifestyle and want to get away to silence. There is a Bluthner grand piano in the main house available for the use of guests at a small extra cost. Excellent walks from the house. Anything from 20 mins to 2 hours. Off road. Iron age hill fort, medieval motte and bailey, Powerstock Common, secluded wild valleys, coastal path. Deer, badgers, foxes, newts, toads, buzzards, ravens, wood peckers, wrens and tits. The cabin is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guest access We are at Merriott House. Please note exact name. Come through west Milton and after a mile turn left just before the telephone exchange building; before you reach the T junction above Powerstock. There is an orange shopping bag on a stick marking the entrance. Please enter drive from top and park with other cars in yard. Come down steps to find me or send me a text and I will find you.
