Description

Welcome to my home! It is a beautiful ground floor duplex flat refurbished by me to my own design to provide my Airbnb guests with a perfect 'home from home' with lots of familiar home comforts! South Lambeth Road has lots of bars and restaurants, it's extremely close to the sights but in safe and friendly residential area. The road is made up of a mix of 19th and 20th century architecture. There is a parking space beside the house if you need it. I hope you love it as much as we do. :0) The space The house has quite recently been turned into a 'smart house' and has all mod' con's you would expect including lots and lots of USB power socket outlets to charge mobile phones placed strategically around every room, a data network for hardwired connections to laptops for those that may need a wardwired connection and the smart TV's in every room as well as an Eero ' mesh' wireless network providing blanket WiFi coverage around the entire house! The smart TV's are connected to the network so you can instantly access your chosen TV viewing or the internet. The upstairs part of the house has a Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery system (MVHR) pushing fresh air into the bedrooms and extraction in the wet room, bathroom and WC. With the advent of Covid-19, good ventilation became ever more important to a healthy enviroment so this very much helps. In the living room you will find find a contemporary setting with an essence of the east. There's a 60" smart TV, comfortable four seater dining table with room for more chairs if needed and a separate two seater bar table and stools next to mirror. There is a large sofa bed in the sitting room too with most of the bedding kept beneath. Please let me know if you need to use it so I can pop the sheets and covers on the duvet. The whole house has been furnished with Dwell furniture which is renowned for being stylish and modern. Beautiful varied modes of lighting (concealed lighting, spotlights, table lamps) create any mood you wish for including garden lights to bring the pretty garden into the house at night. :0) I wanted to create a boutique feel to each bedroom so adorned each room with geometric colour on the headboard walls courtesy of Cole & Son . Each bedroom has a luxuriously comfortable mattress with deluxe bedding to provide an excellent nights sleep, a smart TV, a trouser press for our business guests, a hairdryer, luggage rack to pop your suitcases on in two of the rooms as well as plenty of wardrobe and cupboard storage space. Each room has two lighting circuits including beautiful ambient concealed lighting switched by the beds in bedrooms 1 & 2 and centre lights. The curtains have blackout lining keep out street light. The curtains are operated by remote controlled electric curtain rails. *Please note that the mattresses may contain latex. The duvets are made of duck feathers in bedroom one and Siberian goose down in bedrooms two and three for the comfort of our guests. The mattresses are memory foam in bedroom one and sprung mattresses in bedrooms two and three. For the warmest of summer days we also have 4.5 tog synthetic duvets and freestanding electric fans for a more comfortable nights sleep. We tend to host mostly families at our house so to make life easier particularly for our international guests, we have x2 cots, a single stroller type push chair, high chairs, baby and toddler books in English and French, a array of baby and toddler toys and lots of other bits and pieces besides. Many of these things are stashed away in the lesser used parts of the wardrobes in the bedrooms. We know you simply couldn't bring many of the things you'd normally use at home for babies and toddlers on a plane so we try to help a little. There are x3 wet areas: there is a complete family bathroom, a wetroom with a shower and washbasin and thirdly a seperate WC. You will find x2 pairs of bath towels and bath sheets in each bedroom in the wardrobes and numerous shower gels of varying delicious smelling scents. There are face cloths/ face flannels in the bathroom cabinet in the family bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need including double ovens, washing machine, fridge/ freezer and dishwasher. There is a tumble drier in the hallway in the cupboard too! There is a integrated microwave next to the oven. There's a kettle, several French Presses/ cafetieres to make fresh coffee and of course a toaster. There are drawers and drawers of cutlery and china- more than you could ever need, so feel free to fill up the dishwasher. You could cook an entire Sunday lunch in this kitchen with the equipment provided :0) I know from experience after a long journey I'm gasping for a hot drink so tea, coffee, sugar are in the cupboard above the kettle, there cooking oils and seasoning for cooking and array of cereals. Our nearest shop is the 'Co-Op Local' visible from the front door of the house and our nearest pub restaurant is the Canton Arms opposite the Co-Op. If you book with us I'll point them out Guest access If you travel into London and terminate at Stockwell Underground station, it is a 6 minute walk (turning left out of the station doors) from the station to the house, or if you prefer with lots of luggage a short x3 stops on bus number 88. The bus stop to get on is on the same side of the road as the station itself, to the right of the station door. You will be so close to the centre you could walk to the river Thames/ Vauxhall Bridge and see the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye to the east and Battersea Power Station and Pimlico to the west. This house is in a great location with easy access to the West End and the most popular sights of central London. The towns of Clapham, Brixton, Vauxhall and Stockwell surround Selway House. Bus numbers 88 and bus number 2 stop literally just outside of the house on both sides of South Lambeth Road for your outbound and return journeys. Stockwell Underground Station is unusual as we have x2 train lines passing through: ● Northern Line ● Victoria line. You will have exceptional transport links! If you come by car, the house has a drive beside the house for the exclusive use of guests. I cant think of any other road in cetral London that has it dueing the day time and night time but the entire length of South Lambeth Road is a free parking zone so if you're bringing a second vehicle you could park in it. As there are mo charges its popular so you may need to be patient when looking for a space. Unfortunately we are only able to provide one space at the house itself. There are community bikes just outside our front door to the right so if you're feeling adventurous and brave they are fun, cheap and easy to use :0) Other things to note As a separate cautionary note, many Airbnb hosts have experienced problems with noisy guests. Airbnb have tightened the booking criteria, particularly for younger guests requiring several positive reviews so if your booking is cancelled by Airbnb please phone them to ask why. My house is in a very quiet residential block so if you know you are going to need somewhere to party into the early hours after the clubs close, my home may not be the most suitable option for you.
