Description

This 14th century spacious house is in the heart of the medieval village, close to the village shops and the market square. The gîte has: 4 bedrooms (1 queen bed 160*200, 2 double beds 140*190, 2 single beds 90*190 (+2 folding cots)); 2 bathrooms, each with a walk-in shower, toilet and wash-basin; fitted kitchen; lounge/dining room (TV, open fire) with direct access to the sunny terrasse and the private, shady rear garden (barbecue and garden furniture). The space The no smoking house has: fitted kitchen, lounge/dining-room, 4 bedrooms (maximum capacity 8 persons plus 2 babies), 2 bathrooms (each with a walk-in shower, toilet and wash-basin). Bedroom 1 has a queen bed 160*200, bedrooms 2 and 3 each have a double bed 140*190, and bedroom 4 has two twin beds 90*190. (For infants: 2 folding cots, 2 high chairs and a baby bath.) NB: access to the 2nd floor is via a staircase in bedroom 2; on the 2nd floor, there is bedroom 3 with a double bed, giving access to the 2nd bathroom and bedroom 4 with two single beds. From the calm of the sunny terrace and the shady rear garden (with garden furniture and barbecue), enjoy the breathtaking view of the Medieval Fortress of Najac and the relaxing calm of the green countryside of the Aveyron valley and hills surrounding the village. Wifi throughout the house. [During Autumn or Winter stays, a supply of firewood can be made available for use of the open fire in the lounge for a supplement (amount depends on the duration of the stay).] Guest access Throughout the stay you will have exclusive use of the whole house, terrace and private rear garden. Continental-quilts, sheets, quilt- and pillow-cases are provided and on arrival you will find the beds made up ready to sleep in. A few tea-towels and hand towels are provided. Towels can be provided on request for a 5€ supplement per set (including a bath towel, a hand towel and a facecloth). On arrival you will find in the kitchen: salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, sugar, tea bags, ground coffee and coffee filters, and a few 'Nespresso' machine capsules. Other things to note The best way to discover our superb medieval village is to meander around the narrow, steep streets on foot, taking time to explore the village and its historical attractions (the Royal Fortress, the Church of St. John (Saint Jean) and the area called "La Pause", the Governor's House ("La Maison du Gouverneur"), the village fountains…). Discover the numerous village shops and craft boutiques, let yourself be tempted to take a refreshing drink or try a dish made of local produce at one of Najac's little bistrots and cafés, or simply take a couple of minutes to rest for a few minutes at the various view-points and take in the beauty of the surrounding countryside. From September to June, it is authorised to park vehicles in the Rue du Barriou (on the right going downhill). In July and August, it is authorised to drop off passengers/luggage/shopping, but motor-vehicles must be parked elsewhere (free parking throughout the village) on the car-parks or on the marked-out parking spaces. (It is usually easy to find a parking space in one of the streets adjacent to the Rue du Barriou.)
