Please review the list of amenities to make sure the room offers what you need. The room has one full-size (not queen) sofa bed with a memory foam mattress. There is a private bath with shower. To go along with the log home motif we have disguised the toilet as an outhouse, but don’t worry, there really is a regular flushing toilet! ☺ The room has it’s own private entrance and parking right outside the door. There is a small closet in case you need to hang some clothes. The room sits on the corner of a walkout basement of a recently built log home. It sits on 20+wooded acres with a pond. You will enjoy walking through the woods and around the pond. Don’t be surprised if you see a turkey, deer or fox along the way. Walking trails and a pond are there for your enjoyment. Feel free to bring your fishing gear for catch-and-release fishing from the bank of the pond. It is located on a gravel road, in a rural setting outside of Edgefield, SC. It is a quiet neighborhood where all the neighbors look after each other. We haven’t had any prowlers or intruders. WE ARE PERSONAL FRIENDS WITH THE SHERIFF AND CAN HAVE A DEPUTY ON SITE IN MINUTES IF THERE’S EVER A NEED FOR SUCH. Our water is from a well. We have a water treatment system which includes a softener, a filter and a UV light. If you are accustomed to city living you will find our well water will like have a higher mineral content that your city water. This is a great place to get away from the technological tether. We do have fiber internet service. We have an adequate Verizon signal for our cell phones (usually two bars). If you have T-Mobile or Sprint service, the signal is poor here; it would be a good idea to print out the directions and bring them with you rather than try to pull them up online once you get in the area. We are about 30 minutes from downtown North Augusta, SC. We are 35-45 minutes away from Augusta, GA, depending on the route you take and where you are going in Augusta (a bit farther if you are going to south Augusta). If you have a time-sensitive appointment in Augusta, you may want to consider something in Augusta or North Augusta. If you are headed to the Augusta National Golf Course this is a great place. You will avoid the high lodging prices in Augusta and we can give you directions to the golf course to minimize the traffic hassle. Travel time to Aiken, SC is about the same as Augusta, depending on your destination. We are only 12 minutes from the National Wild Turkey Federation facility in Edgefield. While our guests are here we pretty much carry on as we would otherwise. From time to time our yard man comes out in the morning from North Augusta to mow so the guests may hear the mower when they are around. I may be out in the woods with my chain saw or riding down to the pond to do some fishing. We do have a cat on the property. She may come calling at your door to inspect the new arrivals, but feel free to shoo her away. If you like cats you are welcome to play with her. We request that our guests refrain from smoking and/or bringing alcohol or illegal drugs on to the property. Failure to comply with this request may result in the termination of your rental agreement. We have listed our check-out time as 10 am, but flexible. Most days will be flexible, but now and then we will need to have access to the room at 10 am. Just check with us in advance to make sure we have that flexibility on your checkout day. There is video monitoring with active recording around the outside perimeter of the house to assist in the protection of our property and the property of our guests. We are in the process switching systems. We ask the each guest provide a brief introduction of himself/herself and accompanying guest, if any, when requesting a reservation. We also like to know what brings you our way. We like to begin to become acquainted with our guests before they arrive. Sometimes our schedule does not allow us the opportunity to get to know our guests during their stay. It will also help us to prepare for their arrival. We are not Hampton Inn or Quality Inn. If you require that type of experience please let us know and we can refer you to that type of place. Guest access The room is closed-off from the rest of the house and completely reserved for your use only. During your stay If we are around we'd be delighted to interact with you. If you prefer to keep to yourself that is fine. If you need information about the city of Edgefield feel free to ask. Other things to note Please, no reservations on behalf of anyone not registered with AirBnB (e.g., "I am requesting a reservation for two friends of mine.").
